Hi Steamschooner You may say that you've only done a "little bit", but it's often the smallest details that give the biggest impact. In this case, your skylight looks great and, yes, I agree that those brass rods would've been a pain to fit, but well worth the effort. Nice job! Cheers Patrick

Hi Greg - messy workplaces are a sign of productivity, which can only be a good thing! Hi Denis - Got it! The port side engine will be next on my list. That'll at least guarantee that Majellan can move in a straight line! Thanks also, for your comments about the jet skis...and, yes, a micro-brush would be useful. Hi Mark - thanks. We are a crazy lot aren't we? But at least we have fun, doing it! Hi Piet - Thanks for the compliments....but...Trust me. You're not crazy for contemplating the small stuff and a jet ski would be easy peasy for you. As for me, well, I've got a long way before I reach your standard, but I'm still having fun! I also measured the hulls and they're a teeny tiny 13mm long. All the best, everyone Cheers Patrick

Hi Dave Not water bugs, but our garden has heaps of ants at this time...rotten buggers, they are. But, I reckon one or two of them could easily jet ski down the pond's waterfall. That'd be fun! Cheers Patrick

Hi Greg Thanks! I reckon a steady hand is an absolute must...I can't tell you how many times the tiny hulls disappeared on the floor. I was getting a tad frustrated by the end of the night. Cheers and all the best! Patrick

Hi everyone Hope you're all well! Thanks for all of your comments and Likes. I've had a go at the two tiny jet-skis. They don't look too bad (for their teeny tiny size), but they'll look heaps better once they're painted. The photos below show the jet skis in the tender hangar, alongside the ship's RIB tender. I hope you like them. Cheers Patrick

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
