Hi Denis I reckon we're all our own worst enemies. As far as I can see, those stained glass windows look bloody marvellous (with or without the light). Also, you definitely do have your work cut out for you, with all of those builds on the go. But, you're having fun, which is the most important thing. All the best! Patrick

Hi George - many thanks, as always. Hi Denis - many thanks! You're right about the dizziness. Let's hope that the addition of the starboard side's engine will help her to move straight, now. Cheers Patrick

Hi everyone Many thanks for all of your Likes and comments! Well, so far, I've managed to give the jet skis and the engine their first coat of paint. I'm a bit disappointed about the quality of the first coat of paint because I'm using an old brush, which isn't the best for fine painting. I'll need to buy a new one before I paint anything else. I've also started on the starboard engine, which remains unpainted. There's still lots of work to go, of course. Here're the photos below. All the best! Patrick

Thanks for the compliments about the jet skis. They're really teeny tiny, but simultaneously they were heaps of fun to build. I'm looking forward to more progress from your shipyard, but all in due course (of course). Cheers Patrick

Thanks. The thought of working on the Danube sounds fabulous and of course, like so much in life, our hobbies sometimes have to take a back seat whilst we go to work. Nonetheless, it's great to see you back posting again. All the best Patrick

Thanks Pete I was dreading the thought of doing the tiny jet skis, but in actual fact, they turned out to be easier than expected. I'm just in the process of painting them now. More pictures soon. Cheers Patrick

Hi Mark She's looking absolutely lovely and you must be pretty chuffed with her. I agree with you, too, about the painting. Better to do it whilst she's still on the building board, rather than after separation, because it'll save you a lot of time and energy. Nice job, so far! Cheers Patrick

HI Pete Nice one! I'm on board. However, I think I'm losing track of your ships because you've got so many on the go Nonetheless, it's always a joy watching your builds and this sailing version, in particular will be beauty, for sure. Do you think you'd be able to do a working version of the rolling furling gear as well? Cheers Patrick

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
