HI everyone
Many thanks for your comments and Likes. Greatly appreciated.
Here's my latest update: I've managed to paint the starboard engine and other associated details in the engine room. The jet skis and the ship's RIB tender have also received a second coat of paint with a new and better quality paint brush. The difference is much better than before, I must say.
Also, at the stern of the ship, I've started on the port and starboard stairs which lead from the main deck down to the diving platform. Still lots of cleaning up to do, of course.
Lastly, on the Sun Deck, I've put together the spa (which is the funny round thing) and a short series of steps for guests to use in order to climb from the deck into it.
Lots and lots of details, as well as filling, puttying and sanding to go, but it's fun and satisfying work, none the less.
All the best!
Cheers

Hi Piet
No worries! I can assure you that there'll be more than a few cushions scattered around the ship, including the Sun Deck area. There will also be some large umbrellas on the aft of the Sun Deck; just to give a hint of what it'd be like to sit back and relax on a nice tropical cruise while the crew toil away to make the guests happy.
Cheers and all the best!

Omega1234 reacted to kees de mol in SS Kaiser Wilhelm der Grosse 1897 by Mirabell61 - FINISHED - scale 1:144 - POF - first German four stacker of the Norddeutscher Lloyd line
Hello Nils,
I just watched all the 44 pages because I had forgotten your build een little. It's very impressive what you make, a real work of art. For the lifeboat I would go for your own prototype. Self-made is always better IMHO The canvas can be more realistic. I used thin led in the pas te make a canvas cover. The led wich is arround an expensive bottle of wine. You can also use aluminumefoil or even Milliput to shape a natural cover.
Kind regards. Kees

Nils, here are some pictures of the winches on the steamschooner Wapama. I don't know if they will help but they are good study material.

Thank you very much John,
It will take some time and a little experiencing until I get a prototype done, so that it looks halfway like a winch. If it can be approved afterwards the other 5 will follow quite swiftly...

Thanks Popeye, I got the work table cleared off, and now have to find where I was using the rest of my tools for some other task, so I can start getting set up to begin work again. I suppose I should start with some current status pictures, as a beginning point, if I can find my camera. Ah! Found it. Now just to find the rest of my hand tools, and those riffle files and dremel tools. I hope my glues have not all dried up. I may have to do some shopping for fresh adhesives. At least my planks are all cut to rough size.

thanks everyone for the kind comments....and for those who hit the like button
I may try and make a set Piet.......I like the canvas idea too. this style seem to be easier for the model though.
I think everyone remembers the M&M boat I enjoyed that build.......it was fun thinking up all that stuff I'm still pondering over a few things and finish the ladder {stairs}......then I can see what will be next.

Hi Nenad
Not challenge, but maybe exeeding limits ...........
To be serious, the only limit is, what you expect for yourself. Things can be done by trying only. BUT; When I look at your former posts, you have made some really difficult things before, so this wheel will not hold you back, as I believe!
Regards
Gerhard

Hi Walter
Nice to hear back from you and that you're taking more care of your health. I know it sounds like a cliche, but health will always trump over our hobbies, so, take your time and make sure you're fit and well before getting back to your shipyard.
All the best!

Hi Greg
Many thanks! I can't promise about the bubbles, but I can always try....
With respect to the stern door, yep, you're right because it's designed to be lowered to water level, thereby enabling the jet skis and tender to be launched and recovered.
Hope this helps.
Cheers

Hi BDGiantman Thanks for your comments. Greatly appreciated!
Hi Mark Thanks and I really appreciate your comments!
Hi Elijah. Thanks for your comments and yep, I've designed each deck to be completely removable so that the interior can be viewed. I'd hate to have put all the work into the interior, without it being able to be enjoyed. Thanks once again.
Cheers
