  1. Superb job alll round, I have seen this frame in the flesh when she was in RN use. OC.
  2. Evening all, - Pictures - base down - White applied and Black band and gate. Sorry about the pic quality - light and hand shake)))) OC.
  3. Tim are you saying that the Two rectangular cut outs (indicated by the Two Large Arrows) should be moved inwards to line up with larger cut out further forward in yoy picture? OC.
  4. Amazing work - so hard to find out the 100% facts as proof is burried - but damn good attempt is all we can do (like my own build) OC.
  5. Evening all, a bit more progress on the porch, I put a few coats of White on it - inside and out, and I have also made the stone base for it thats also been painted and weathered, the base was then glued in place on my dio. Next stage will be to paint the Black bottom same width as on the farmhouse, then the Grey on the slate tiles followed by some weathering. No pics as my batt was dead but will take some later. OC.
  6. Some of the scenery I need to tackle - stone paths - a wall and a sloping grass that I estimate will go from zero to about Four Feet at the edge of my dio. Some head scratching me thinks. Oh also the porch has been taken down in these modern pics of the net - even the original door has been bricked up and moved to the side. OC.
  7. Excellent painting - weathering Greg - they are not the easiest to get right - you have done a really good job mate. OC.
  8. Evening all, Roof tiles - Tick, Flashing - Tick, and dry fitted to check it fits. OC.
  9. Excellent work brother. OC.
  10. Eveening all, some more progress - I built the Two Trusses and a support rail, then I cut out the roof linings using some card, and have started to tile it using single strips of paper that over lap each other, I then pencil the gap in between each til where I will cut down to simulate individual tiles, also the top and edges will have some paper flashing over the top of the tiles. OC.
  11. Warm welcome to the family, thats a Super start, I also had this kit - it was gifted to me from an old neighbour after I tried to save his life with chest compressions after his heart failed, anyway as a thank you his wife gifted me this kit. OC.
  12. So next off I will make a couple of roof trusses before I make some mock roof tile panels (probably wont be individual tiles) OC.
  13. Not sure what its for Chris - but checking my airshow pics I can see its just on the one side. OC.
  14. Evening all, work has started on the porch, I transferred the paper to my MDF then using my sharp knife I cut them out, then after making the Two sides and front and also the door - I glued them together using Super Glue for a faster stronger bond - this is where I am with it. OC.
  15. Thanks Ken, what I was thinking of doing is to layer the scenery with sheets of typing paper as I only need to go from nothing to about a Inch at the end/back, then lay my grass mat and hedge over the top of that. OC.
  16. A lot of models of the scene just show the cottage garden as Flat - but its not, as it starts to slope up with the general terrain as we know the land sloped up from LHS to the sunken road and beyond - the British. OC.
  17. Seats look good Craig - good contrast between the Orange and Black. OC.
  18. Morning all, so after doing some reading up on the interweb, it looks like I will be doing some landscaping in the farmhouse garden, as it appears to gradually slope upwards from a retaining wall close to the house, I will need to research how I am going to construct my wall and build the gradient that my grass mat and sprinkles will go over to make a kind of kitchen garden - grass and beds kind of thing. Here is a view off the net from about Ten years ago and also a drawing from the 1900s. OC.
  19. Evening all, I have set about doing my scale drawing plans for my Porch building. OC.
  20. You could try some heat (haiirdryer) while gently twisting it in the right direction, I would try to do this before you start first planking as I am not sure if planking will pull it in to shape - and might lock the twist in. OC.
