No problem Roger, basically it was just a farm with wall that was close enough to the English line to be both an annoyance to the French or a pain in the back side to the English, dependent on who captured it. Oc.

Hi all, no photographic evidence of my latest work - but basically I worked on the faces of another Two KGL 5th, also I altered a couple of the cross straps as they would not be there unless the packs were worn, then I layed down the red coat colour on Two of them. After talking to an actual reinactor from a KGL reinactment unit, he told me the plumes should be Green, as the the detachments from the KGL were all from the Light regiment and Green represented thier unit colour - so as I have Dark Green on order for the various jackets, I will paint the plumes when it arrives. OC.

Thanks mate for explaining all that, fits in with what I have been researching - certainly was a close call, also make you wonder what might have happened if Grouchy with his 33.000 troops sent off to fight the Prussians - had returned back to Waterloo in time. OC.

Certainly would and even more so with so dry brushing ontop of the flat paint after its dry, just like adding a gentle dusting to bring out the high spots of the grain and details like edges of planks and fittings< but remeber to cover/mask the windows first. OC. -
Napoleon wanted to use it as a forward attack base to attack Wellingtons lines with some cannons, both sides knew the importance of the farm. OC.

I strongly recomend getting the Revell plastic kit of the Pearl then just do a few mods like I did - follow my build if you want to, its a very accurate kit and very well made just needs the mods I did to Improve it and bring it to life. OC -
This is kind of what I am trying to re create but at a slighty earlier stage (so without as much frenzy) as this very fine piece of art (not mine) represents the scene late in the day after the farm had repulsed Two or Three attacks. In the center is Major Baring on his horse directing his men as best he could. I think to build something to this level of detail might take me a few years. As I stated its not my picture its off the net. OC.

Thank you Edward, thinking about how to do the KGL 2nd and British 95th as I think I can use the same figures for both with Rifles instead of the Muskets, very simlar uniform also save for the 95th being all in Green except for the Shako, the KGL 2nd had Grey trousers. OC.

Yesterday I spoke with a few Waterloo reinactors who attended the 2015 event at Waterloo and also a few historians I speak to, regarding the back pack subject and the opinion seams to be that It would be a 50/50 thing, so I am going along with the idea to have some wearing it and some not. OC.

Straps were just a couple of hand painted layers of white including one in Brown. OC.

Evening all, let me introduce a Rifle man of the 5th Battalion Kings German Light KGL Line Regimant, same procedure as the French figures various stages of different paint layers and shading and high lighting - more fiddly this one was. Picture gallery - first off the chap himself then squared off aganst a French Grenadier and then another group shot. OC.

I will be honest I do not have a lot of knowledge about the ACW apart from what I saw on the TV program North and South, over here the only country wide war we had was the ECW English Civil War between the Crown following people and the Parliment - it split the country leading to the war it created. OC.

So I have started laying down some paint layers - started as I do with the faces / hair / sideboards then the brading and plate on the hats, next I put a few Red layers on the jacket. OC.

Hi all, I think I have rectified the back strap problems - I scraped off some of that double line detail and the nasty gouge I caused, now they are smooth but with just a subtle line detail, with a couple of thin white paint lines they should look ok. OC.

I might make him an experiment - could try sanding off some of the raised detail were the straps would be, and try to cut some very very narrow strips of tamiya tape, see if I could get them to stick then prime over the top again to seal them down, then in theory they would just be picked out with paint. Or I might not and just slap the packs on.😵 OC.

Evening all following with popular requests I ahve started on the KGL Line Infantry that was sent down to support the Light Infantry defending the Farm, constructed and primed with flat back acrylic, these ones for some reason have better back detail so I think I can leave off the packs. OC.
