  1. Just found these - interesting. http://lyonairmuseum.org/blog/lyon-air-museum-b-17-flying-fortress-fuddy-duddy-history-takes-flight-event-feb-11 Off the net. OC.
  2. Thanks lou. amazing how tight it was in the nose area. OC.
  3. I understand its the same green interior throughout (the same interior green as I used in the bomb bay), Here is a pic showing the green shade (internet pic courtesy of the owner) OC.
  4. Thats an excellent recovery lou, I thought it was the original (un cut) image - nothing wrong with that mate. OC.
  5. More progress in the bomb bay - I assembled and weathered the four bomb racks, these were painted flat alum then I ran a wash over them. Oh and look at what arrived in the post - OC.
  6. Thank you so much EJ, Im building a Mosquito plane on the other builds section at the moment pop along and have a look. OC.
  7. Thanks ken, first time I have done it with planes - first time I tried it was on my Warspite Build then Pearl. OC.
  8. Those are the Yard Arm ropes to push pull (with/against the wind) there should be on each side attached to the end of the yards, then with a block near the yard, and (what I did with my pearl) attached two blocks hung from the front edge of the lower tops, then I ran the ropes through the blocks down to a point on the deck either on the bulwark side hand rails or anywhere else convenient. This is repeated for all the Yards. OC.
  9. No problem lou, glad to help. OC.
  10. Denis could you not have taped the area you wanted to cut first with the line you wanted to cut marked on the tape (would that not have helped also)? OC.
  11. Lou you could try this - use the better doors and hold in place first with tiny strips of plastic card that could imitate the hinges, then use thing plastic card strip the right thickness on the top - down the front window side and on the bottom, but leaving a thin gap down the locking side, I have shown what I mean in your pic below. OC.
  12. Lou give me 5 to mess about with one of your pics to show you an idea you could try. OC.
  13. Its the H-34 Lou, use to be known over here built by Westland as the Wessex. OC.
  14. Yes indeed - its a balancing act between getting enough tension on the shrouds to begin with, then attaching the rats without them pulling the individual shrouds in together - I tend to do a simple knot at one end first with a dab of superglue (by a thin piece of wire dipped into the glue then dabbed on the knot) I then just loop the thread (ratline) around each shroud (and dab each with the glue) then when I get to the end I just loop it around again and dab that with glue leaving the excess thread till it has set before cutting it off. OC.
  15. Thank you lou, but save your compliments till I have done the rattle can painting - that will be a success or fail operation. OC.
  16. Lou what happened - was it a case off the new cut out area for the door now being too large for the door to fit in after you have worked on the inside of the said door? could you possibly make a false edge with thin plastic card going around the edge of the door - this would hide any gap. OC.
  17. Looking great denis, the shading/highlighting really makes a difference. OC.
