  1. Am I reading this correct - when the canon is not in use the tackle is frapped and secured from the carriage to the bulkhead, but when In use the tackle would be hooked up to one of the lashing points mid deck with the rope going through a block and hauled into possition after firing. Would this then tidy up and not leave a coil of tackle rope by the canon (or is that rope for another purpose)? OC.
  2. Thank you Mark, I am keen to continue on her assisted by comments from the admiral, i just worry about moving her if/when the time comes cant simply wrap her in paper, but we will cross that bridge when we reach it. OC.
  3. Thank you lou, yes this site is without doubt the warmest place I have ever come across - there is so much empathy and understanding on here that I have never come across before. OC.
  4. Hi steve, (hope you dont mind me discussing this on your log mark) my thinking was/is that the CA glue would harden and even with just a smear from a fine brush, would add a small amount of protection to a fine delicate part, I have never tried it but in hindsight it might work. OC.
  5. I like chuck's thinking mark - would certainly help those delicate bottom areas, I had the same problem with my Greyhound where I found the burning from the laser cutting had made them too short and even some had chipped away. I would even be tempted to paint the extreme edges in some CA (just thinly) to give them a bit of strength. OC.
  6. I want to take this moment to say a few words as it has been playing on my mind - I want to apologize for the way I came across with so much "self importance" regarding my personal issues - it was unfair and un considerate, as many good folk on here have thier own troubles and most keep it to them selves and just deal with it. I felt rushed along with a moment of feeling that I needed to share my feelings on here, as to a large degree it feels like a second home - and feels like I have made some great friends - friendships that mean Alot to me. I am truly sorry. OC.
  7. Doing a bit more tidy up work today on the pearl when I noticed that on the one side the anchor has lost its crown/arm clean off, I looked everywhere but not a sign, so I had to trap the shank in behind the forenast shroud dead eyes, not ideal but dont know how to make a realistic replacement part to match the other one, gues I will have to put it down to battle damage. OC.
