  1. Same kit as I just finished - some suggestions - use wood dowels where ever you can, inside the two piece masts (lowers) and for the mast higher sections, also make wood dowel yards instead of the plastic ones (they will be far stronger for tying ropes against them) try to fit a wood deck if you can (far more realistic in my opinion) square off the rear cabin front area (thats if you intend to build her as the wicked wench or latter black pearl) also if you can try to use wood deadeyes and blocks - they all help to make a more substancial build. Just a few ideas for you. OC.
  2. So! Now the Pearl is finished - I will give myself a couple of days of then - I will make a start on the Mosi, I have all the stuff I need to build her I think so it should be interesting and quite different from the pearl. OC.
  3. Thank you so much denis, yep its in the cabinet now job done, having a day or two breather before my next build - In the Plane section I have been speaking about. So no ships for a bit. OC.
  4. That is gonna be a "woppa" love all the detail and bits and pieces as lou said crew would be great there are some Amazing figures at Verlinden. OC.
  5. Great work on the bomb bays - you so could go to town at that scale - make one drule. OC.
  6. It was, think it was the same mold as there early 60-70s Apollo rescue S61, but modified with add on like the radar and sonar cover, also the engine sand filters. OC.
  7. Thought that was apt - sneaking away in the beak head, OC.
  8. Finished (at last) - I painted and added the last of the figures including an unlucky guy who was left to hang from the main upper mast (he just bones). Also I fitted two flags that I sent off for to get fabric ones, they were trimmed then had the rope trapped and secured, I got the drupe by applying pva and shaping when wet - then heated with a hairdryer to catch the shape. Its been a really enjoyable build and I can Highly recommend the kit to anyone. Thank You to Every one who followed and commented. Here's the gallery light wasn't to good though indoors with just an over head light. OC.
  9. And there was me thinking the Italeri C130J herc was big in 1/48 scale, I had this kit a few years back but sold it on due to its size. OC.
  10. Cant wait for the mossie for obvious reasons. OC.
  11. Those details - those details - superb work this is gonna be a stunner. OC.
  12. Thank you denis, I think they make the ship "come alive" certainly giving the pearl a bit of character. OC.
