Good day pirates - more work over the last two days - anyway I have fitted the mizzen mast lower shrouds (minus the ratlines) they are loose and not lashed to deadeyes yet, I have also fitted/lased and tied the main- lower mast side backstays to the channel deadeyes, I have also attached the two upper mast side backstays and lashed them to the deadeyes - these will be tied to the back channel deadeyes then tentioned at the same time tentioning the main to foremast stay. Pictures later. OC.

Right then folks inlight of my nasher woes - I got some more work done on the pearl, I made the upper gallant mast by making a wood dowel mid section between both tops sections, this was then painted and weathered - this was put to one side while I measured up then worked by shaping the topgallant yard, this was also painted and set aside to dry. I decided that it would be easier to fit the yard to the upper mast while loose - so I semi glued it inplace with a dab of ca, then lashed it inplace. Here are a few pics showing it dry fitted inplace - its starting to gain some hight now. OC.

Its a crazy situation - many years ago I fractured my femur (displaced fashion) and spent three months in hospital - they pinned my leg with a titanium nail and the same through my knee, all that treatment was Completely Free, but I cant get my local dentist to do the same. Guess they think teeth arn't important. OC.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
