  1. Good evening everyone day 13/90 engine room flat, engine room tween deck frames 37 to 54 thank you for comments and likes well today i managed to get the two levels of the engine room done, primed and painted red, i can now get the upper deck longitudinals fitted to keep the main bulkheads separated after that, proceed aft and finish off the shaft escape tunnel, and the continue aft back to the rudder stock a few photos of todays work and others for my benefit of deciding how to display this in a scrapping diorama i would love some ideas (please) wrt the build
  2. i had forgotten about this build, the new owner finished her prior to the plague, i have not seen any photos of her on the water, and i have no idea if he still intends to keep her, i may just message him and find any info,
  3. Good evening everyone thank you for comments and like day 12/90 engine room tween deck thats all i achieved today build wise, also prepared another 100 pieces for tomorrow, which will be the engine room deck
  4. good evening everyone day 11/90 up to main deck level thank you for comments and likes not quite as much done today as planned, but the height certainly increased as the tween deck on the shortened middle section went up to the main deck and i was able to put the main longitudinal in, this will help me get the alignment right, for everything going aft the ribs for shortened middle section are not strong enough to support the weight yet, i may have to rethink that area having done that i went to the after peak and went up another deck again to the main deck level, the longitudinal should go in tomorrow very little of todays work is glued yet i placed the accommodation blocks on top in more or less the correct position there is another level to be made up, it is certainly going to be a nice sized diorama im pleased with it so far, perhaps it looks naff to some,
  5. wow but what a 12 years, and i still advise people to look at your upgrade kits, thank you for your contribution towards this hobby
  6. cannot say i fancy all that masking, but she certainly looks great sorry, i dodnt have an answer for you, have you asked the wife to bite them for you😀
  7. good evening everyone day 10/90 Stern Frame and after peak this section has taken me again most of the day, and still not completed, next bits to be added will be the top of the rudder connection some of the bits for todays work, varnished and trimmed to size making up the top deck girders for tomorrows work just in place for the photo
  8. Thank you it is still as per the last photo, in the future i will do the same as the back end and add a bit from the midships section to it and produce a diorama meanwhile i am working on the back end and have about 80 days left to produce something out of it
  9. lol i see the phots i posted they all look soibad then add a bit of glue and they become more presentable i now am asking myself what colour were the double floor frames, would i get away with red ochre i doubt they will ever be seen, but i dont know what sections are going to be opened up yet
  10. good evening everyone thankyou for comments and likes day 9/90 shaft tunnel taken me most of the day to get this level done, varnished, cutouts and slots done, deck plates will cover this in the next day or so, After this is glued into position, the stern will start to be built up all loose so will straihten them out as they have pva applied
  11. to be honest, i never thought about how good but unserviceable aircraft got back home, i need to read up on why this ship was used for it the PE work looks fantastic
  12. good evening everyone day 8/90 managed to make up another deck today, the last one is going to have to wait as it is fitted directly to the deck plates, and i am miles away from that the corners i am putting a thin strip of paper to tidy them up, with loads of weathering i doubt they will be seen tonight, i primed one level in grey just to see how it looks, i have infact just ordered some white primer and top coat i have not seen a SD14 superstructure in any other colour than ochre or white @realworkingsailor what is the best deck colour? would it be green
  13. quite easy OC 1 card kit, shape blades, straight edge, decent paper glue and superglue to mend me fingers when the sharp blade a straight edge system dont work
  14. i have a lot of the fwd section made up, i may add some of the now useless midships section and complete her as just out of build, (start of her life)
  15. i stopped the bleeding with a fast setting c/a and it got everywhere, never trust me with a sharp knife a few more of the diorama (NOT MY PHOTOS)
  16. good evening everyone day 7/90 - flying by i was inspired by this model many years ago, and will attempt something like this in my project, this is 1/144 whereas mine is twice the size NOT MY PHOTO looking on the net for cargo ship scrapping i came across this hence one of the reasons for add the extra cargo frames, never mind the foreground only 3 months to build 1/3 of a ship took a break from the frames today and played with the accommodation block, this brings in the full size of the build, here she is as of tonight NOT MY PHOTO
