  2. Good evening everyone After 1/2 deck hatches day 63 i am still messing about with this part of the ship, had hoped to have moved on by now, but the hatches are made now, i need to learn how to make ladders soon
  3. thankyou for the comments, very much appreciated
  4. can anyone please recommend a profile/contour gauge to copy internal details, its to help me get more accurate detail inside my 1/48 Enterprise hull
  5. Very nice, was the interior intended, or just a what if, and had you thought about taking sections of the turret out
  6. Good evening everyone Day 62 After 1/2 deck compartments finished i decided not to rip it all out again, seams very pointless for something that wont be seen, otherwise, im never going to progress from here, yes the doors are to thick, and all different, lets see if i can improve when i move to the front, the lower deck beams now fit over the bulkheads, and thats made me happy always happy to post on here things that are not as good as they should be, getting rid of the white edges is next
  7. nothing i have put into the hull is part of the kit, and no internal detail is shown on the plans The deck beams are for the upper deck, and i will need to reorder them, the references i am going by for the internal details are for another class of vessel, but similar in design
  8. good evening everyone day 61 still on after 1/2 deck i dont think i have ever been on a small project for so long, well not since the copper plates and the gun ports, (i still loose sleep over them) on the 1/72 Victory, lol, that seams so very long time ago, infact that was april 2011 it was make or break time this afternoon, commit to the work that i have prepared, or do the bulkheads again, this time with a bit of depth to them the reason for not doing that, was that very little of the bulkheads will be seen, and in a few months time none of this will be either, unless i remove some of the frames the adapted lower deck beams that will be fitting over the area were checked paper tape removed and i started to put the bulkheads in place, test fitting the deck beams as i go along, and adapting where necessary
  9. welcome and im sure you will do a far better job than myself
  10. good evening everyone Day 60 most of the after 1/2 deck bulkheads are now made up, although they seam ok, nut im so very tempted to do it all again, to get a feel for the finished look, im adapting the deck beams to make it all fit
  11. you might find what your looking for here, everyone has there own lists of tools to start with https://modelshipworld.com/forum/18-modeling-tools-and-workshop-equipment/
  12. Welcome to MSW
  13. good evening everyone Day 59 after 1/2 deck compartments i hope these are going to work, everything is removable at present, the extended posts might come in handy when the lower deck beams are put in
  14. going to miss this build when finished
  15. sorry but a quick google checks says avoid at all cost http://cs.finescale.com/fsm/general_discussion/f/50/t/182060.aspx
  16. Good evening everyone thankyou for the likes and comments Day 58 after 1/2 deck compartments lol its the longest time that the after 1/2 deck has not been removed, and relocated to the rubbish bin, and whats more surprising, is the fact that i am now adding bits on top as the storage compartments come into play, i am of course jiggling bits around, as i am building the Enterprise, but only have References to the Pandora, so as a result some of the areas are not the correct size, but they hopefully wont look to stoooooooooooooopid
  17. Good morning everyone day 58 redo of after 1/2 deck sorry, i have not been around much recently, life got in the way since the last post, i restarted the 1/2 decks yet again, i was struggling on getting everything level and on the centreline, i found that making the modules away from the hull far harder than it needed to be lol after pulling it all apart, i then realised why i could not get the line line spot on, it was because one side in planked, and constantly throwing me out anyway the after 1/2 deck is redone and secured within the frame, as it is going to be so low in the vessel, i also opted to do away with the exposed beams, as quite frankly they looked quite naff the forward bulkheads not look as bad as they do in the phot, but maybe i had better redo them as well not the best photos, i am now looking at the best way to make up the bulkheads
  18. i keep giggling to my self when i made up the new signature above my name Its all part of Kev's journey, bit like going to the dark side, but with the lights on
