Thanks Pete and Mark for your detailed responses. It is appreciated. I will be taking time this summer to search for what I want to build for my next project and the Royal William will definitely be on my short list, hence my inquiry! I look forward to following this (Mark's) log in the next few months! Thanks again Frank

Mark, Very impressive work on the stern so far! I realize it is still early, but what are your thoughts on the accuracy of the kit. I notice that you are doing a lot of modifications I.e. Bending the stern facia etc.? Nice work! Frank

Hi Michael, Just catching up on your log this morning! With regards to the installation of the upper railings and at what point they should be done, there is no right or wrong answer. On my build, I waited until nearly the end. This made it harder for me to install the railings, but I think if I did the installation earlier, I would have had a hell of a time attaching the rigging and belaying pins to the lower railing under the upper railing! I remember having a discussion with Mark, who decided it install the upper railings at an earlier stage and was successful doing it. For me, with all the rigging associated with the sails, I think waiting was the correct choice! Frank

Michael, I also mistakenly added the pin rails above the guns instead of the kevels! It was a pain to take back out without damaging the sides and guns! Nice work! Frank

Hello! Here are the last photos for this log! I finally finished with the case. Vasa attached to the case base. Brass name plate attached to holder and screwed to base. Vasa enclosed with plexiglass 3/16" thick Now it is going to cost me a lot of money to have my wife buy a piece of furniture that I can put this large model on !! Thanks for visiting, Frank
