    Real nice base Michael! It is hard to tell in the photo. Is the base wider and longer than the Vasa model? Will the case sit on the edges of the base? Frank

    Michael, The amount of detail you are putting into the sails (as well as the rest of the model) is amazing! Even though you say working on parts of the sails is "not fun", I'm sure you will be glad you made the effort in the end! Congrats! Frank

    Hello, One last post on the final journey of my Vasa model! At the last USS Constitution Guild meeting (of which I am a member) I was surprised and humbled to learn that I won some awards for my Vasa model: First I received a "Silver" award in the master's category (voted on by 3 judges at this season's model show) More humbling was the "Members' Choice Award" . This award is given to the model receiving the most votes from the members of the USS Constitution Modeler's Guild The third award was given to the model voted most popular by the general public visiting the museum and show!     Michael, Great update ! I love the detail you are incorporating and especially the mouse construction! On another note, I am loving the lamp! A lot of light and it is really helping me (with my eyesight issues and all). Thanks for the tip! Frank

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
