  1. The last kit of these I did the fit was very Nice the stencils are some of the worst I have used might just be me the build fought me to the end .
  2. That came out very Nice so for the weathering the light coat was that like a Florrys white/dust wash?
  3. The copit is finished it's such a thinker to get it together and all those pins aligned right but happened with some persuasion. The seat came out really Nice meaning paint wise II was able to paint the brass rings for the threads up top very very well and painted the leather sting in yellow chromate it worked.I may try to get a better level shot if the camera will let me.I am not far from closing of the fuselage and off to the wings the fit of the Mk VI seems better than the last Tempest the Mk V
  4. The Carolina's are about to has/lost a dam whole town is has to evacuate sad.The storm passed in the the best place possible winds in Tally/Gainesville were only in TS nature.
  5. Thanks for the interest fellas I have the Quintas 3D copit for this one the sides are already done just need to build the seat, peddles area and wha la
  6. keep it safe the models show a windfield to the east that is quite large. The further the 75mph winds extend the bigger the fetch meaning surge that's why during Katrina the fetch went all the way to Mobile.Keep Safe!
  7. For me as I have gotten older I find my relation to God more important always there and understanding our dog is much the same way ever notice they spell backwards?
  8. Thanks OC appreciate the compliment Thanks You Scott I think the fear of weathering is going away. Thanks Ken but the bottom of the plane behind the oil cooler rad looks horrid I may try doing more just to learn.
  9. Thanks Alan the MTO is my favorite for weathering then the PTO they just got dirty always thought the ETO had better maintenance and weather conditions. These hase 1/32 Me-109's are very very easy to build and the fit is just there.
  10. This is my second entry for the GB and being a little bit more to do thought I go trough the build History:Tempest Mk.6 NX135/V No.6 squadron RAF,Deversoir,Egypt,1949.The machine was also seen and photographed at Nicosia base,Cyprus. It is one of only a handful of Tempest to carry a bare metal finish(NMF).One of the pilots who are reported to have flown this machine was F/L Spragg, who on the 7th January 1949 took part in the aerial engagement between Tempest and Spitfires of the RAF and Spitfires of the fledgling IAF.On this day Spragg sat in another Tempest and slightly damaged Ezer Weizmann's Spitfire with his guns.
  11. This her finished.I worked to show the oil leaks around the nose and the oil can.
  12. This part of another group build over at our sister site called the "The Sandbox"anything in the sand anywhere car, truck ,figures you got it.I chose Major Erich Gerlitz plane after his 17th kill. The planes paint patterns changes from the 1/2 sand/blue to sand except the blue below the exhaust.Their was no pre-shade on this one just post weathering using Floorys sand,Tamyia Pastel and Alclad Smoke it was done in stages Florrys cleared again and pastel next cleared again.I used Quintas for the interior which is a big help.I hope you guys like it it may go to a small show in Mobile.
  13. I luv that contrast shot Yves of the blue to the brown shot super Nice!
  14. That's good Craig dogs are truly a mans best friend.Congrats!
  15. Those LG's look better covered in paint Mike
  16. As many years I have been building and painting I have only develop or found this method I do.My Renegade has a knob on the back that allows me to adjust the the drawback reducing the volume of paint.I set this up low and go in circular squiggly pattern never hanging out anywhere work with the panel when it's a dark color being applied hence easy to cover the pre-shade go opposite what I say on the bottom.I start with the panel line first but not to much then jump inside the panel its not hard. The neat part when complete take a break come back different lighting maybe look and se where you want more coverage main thing lower the flow. Thanks for the compliment Alan working a 1/72 Ki-49 ATTm braille scale.
  17. Craig I am not that big into cars these days been involved with them for over 40years between machinist/parts but that CF you pulled off is cool as heck. Now lets go the issue of the Hawk ...how did you get him to sit still for three shots? offer a free squirrel?steak?
  18. I started this build on 7/24 and finished last night 8/24 as GB on twin engines on another site. The build allowed me for the first time to use Flory wash been seeing the name out there and honestly alot of my builds are usually pretty clean I have that fear. So,being in the PTO I figured I give it a wash these planes got baked and faded. The paint was applied with a Badger Renegade with an UF needle I can spray at that point 1/16" lines pretty good and the gun is constantly moving. The process allows for the primer to poke through ever so slightly if to much go over it some more and I did.The planes painting took about 3hrs non stop one evening to which the wings were not attached.Oh there was pre-shading done using Testors rubber color a pretty dark brown top/bottom and the paints in this case was Model Master enamels covered by Tamy Semi-gloss lacquer.I applied the wash did your standard procedure and that was it.I then started on the LG with some AK washes first time here also went subtle it's there and attacked the tires with Florys and Mig powder with slight success the sealer kinda took out the powders. The instructions called for silver LG's but I have never seen whether Navy or Marines in the PTO but with white maybe I am wrong but it does look better.
