Very nice work on the painting of the hull. With my large scale models, I was often worried that the hulls were too glossy, So I added a clear satin coating to tone it down and weathered the hull extensively with rust stains, grime, etc.

it happens that black colour was too glossy and copper red too matt.

So I used a transparent matt to have the same effect on both colours.

Furthermore, actual new ships were not completely matt but a little bit glossy (See for example Bluenose II).

I like it!

 

The yellow line really sets the sheer of the hull off nicely. Did you use the masking tape as a guide, or was the line done with pin-striping?

How did you keep such a straight and even line?

I applied a round 2mm wooden rod with adesive strip along the line track.

The marker followed this track!

Then I removed the 2mm rod.

Hi all. 15 days to prepare fife rails and bitts!

This is the second attempt. I think is okay: made from a 1mm brass sheet.

The first one was made of 1 mm ply: too weak!!
