Corsair by DCIronfist - FINISHED - OcCre - 1:80 scale (First wooden ship build)

Recommended Posts

A bit more progress I see, as for taking it as it comes, I fully understand. I haven't made sawdust now for 6 weeks...just too darn much other stuff to do, and not enough hours in a day. I will get back to her when I can, so no rush for anyone

I got the grate together and used some of my wife's craft glue that is repositionable but since I have worked 4 out of last 5 days that's as far as I am.  I do not know if it will hold long enough but I only need it to stay together until I glue it to the deck :)  Will post more progress when it happens :) :) :)

Got a few more pieces for the deck put together....ladders ,the grate for under the boat, the housing on the rear deck took me quite some time to get right. So I may post pics tomorrow or it may wait 3 days lol.  Next I am going to work on the supports for the rowboat

The grate for under the rowboat took me quite a bit of time....but here it is post-3113-0-32482900-1404949890_thumb.jpg

Here's the finished rear deck housing post-3113-0-34087600-1404949987_thumb.jpg

So this is the system I used to measure multiple pieces of the same size..post-3113-0-79936100-1404950090_thumb.jpg

So with that system I made the boat supports which took longer than what most ppl will ever know lol post-3113-0-56813100-1404950193_thumb.jpg

The pin racks post-3113-0-44766500-1404950279_thumb.jpg

And lastly the rowboat(not glued in yet) the knight head and the falcon gun supportspost-3113-0-19349200-1404950546_thumb.jpg

Thanks for looking :) :) :)

DCIronfist, i would just like to let you know that when you come to the mainmast that there is a mistake in the instruction manual in my opinion. you should take part 171 instead of 199 for the mainmast. in my construction it was the only solution. otherwise it does not fit. stil a bit work to do until you will start with it, but you should have a look into it. regards ludger

Thanks for the tip teloo I will look into that when I get to that part. Are you starting a build log? I would like to see your ship :) :) :)

Sjors I am going to leave the pins the color they are, and I like the look of the face on the back solid gold color rather than trying to paint the face :) :) :)
