Many thanks for adding me to the site and to those of you who have already provided some great advice. I'm new to shipbuilding but have experience of various plastic/card kits and thought the time was right to take on a project, in light of the current world issues. Not wanting to bite off more than I can chew, I've opted for the Occre kit 'Bounty Launch', which will hopefully give me a good learning curve without being daunting and off putting. Any thoughts on my choice will be greatly appreciated. I come from a long nautical background, 23 years of Royal Naval service so have always had a deep interest in naval history. Cheers to all and stay safe.

Hello and welcome to MSW. Sounds like a good choice, it was one of the kits suggested when I started sniffing around.

Enjoy it, that is the only rule.

Welcome to MSW.  Give some thought to opening a build log.  It's a great way to meet folks and get help.

Hi Mel, I'm just north of Norwich Airport, small world hey? Thanks for getting in touch and it would be great to see how you get on. I also have a passion for F1 and used to run the security contract, albeit briefly, for the Lotus F1 team at Hingham. I'll take a look at the Occre kit you've got. I'm at the mercy of Amazon at the moment and waiting for my model to be delivered. Take care, Rob
