Beautiful work so far!  I do have one question concerning the forecastle bulwarks, though.  Your model has them as solid structures but I have always seen them as opened, with the railing supported by pillars.  Should the dark wood between the painted pillars be cut out?  For example,  look at the row above the green and white triangular markings.  I wonder if the seven lighter and narrower vertical and slightly slanted areas are actually pillars or posts that support the red and white striped railing?

Flint,

Nice second build. Your hull planking looks great as well. Will grab a seat.

Bill. According to the kits manual it is supposed to be like this. But I was thinking to make openings not only on forecastle but all ship where are railings. I don't have mats to do this, that's why I left it as it is. to cut openings in railings is not for me I will ruin everything there )) in my opinion the scale is not right it says 1:53 but in reality I think it is about 1:80-100. I would trim all that parts completely and build a new railings on top.

Yes,

There is a build log of the  Mamoli GH here somewhere on this forum
The builder also opened these holes later in the build.

Great work so far

These sails are typical of the kit supplied sails. Compare these to the panel sails that Cathead makes for his models described here:

Or the paper sails made by rwiederrich in this thread:

You have done a great job and spent a lot of time on your model, don't short change it with these crappy kit supplied sails.

Of course the choice is yours.

Congratulations on finishing your Golden Hind. You did a really nice job on building this model.  Thanks for sharing the pictures with us.
