Leaving the waist stantions and outer poop deck hand rail until later would have been better. I used mosquito net stained in tea, the colour soaked in o.k. lots of breaks needed at this stage. It's something I've been looking into in preparation for these hammock nets. I've been researching tulle netting but struggled to find a square or diamond pattern that matched my calculations. In New Zealand it is from spotlight, overseas maybe camping shop or craft shop. Tulle pattern here was just a square pattern. Your mesh corresponds pretty much exactly with what I thought it needed to be, which is 2 mm across the corner to corner diagonal of each hole. The problem I found with a lot of the tulle fabric available is that it appears to be a hexagonal pattern, and often the pictures of samples in suppliers advertising material are taken so far away that the size and pattern is hard to see. Later I just fitted the net glued in place then trimmed the top. Mine is o.k from a distance but it was pretty difficult for me. The thread will catch on everything possible when tying. Fit the waist stanchions and waist hammock crane rail supports also outer poop deck hand rail after the nets. Good luck. Small addition to the anchor chain, eyelets fitted. Onto the anchors now, hopefully easier than the nets. I'm just starting to get involved in model railways as well. Early days, but a totally unexpected Christmas gift from the Admiral of an Accurascale OO gauge class 55 Deltic locomotive (one of my favourites) provided the spark, and I'm working on getting to grips with DCC controllers etc. The gift came with a proviso, however - no building a layout until Victory has been completed 😄. mort stoll 1 Quote

Yes more netting on the bow later on also two lots on the masts. This layout is n gauge, I've got an Ho basic one as a test track as well. Under the bridges is for a river. Nice loco, my tracks are dc but I'll probably add DCC to the Ho layout at some stage, not cheap. The main trouble with my local train shop they are now only 5 minutes from home, very dangerous. You could always put a temporary track on the dinner table while the Admiral goes out. Looking forward to seeing your next Victory stage. It will be amazing as usual. You're so fortunate to have that shop so close, Ron, but I can see the danger of tempation! My two closest stores have shut in the last year so purchases are usually made on-line, without the chance to look, handle and seek advice from the staff.
