all my builds rattle....bits of wood, pins, even files have found their way into the hulls of my builds never to be seen again.... now a staircase at the bottom of Endeavour....Violin luthiers often come across a mouse.... dust that has gathered into a ball because of the vibrations of the instrument.....after they have cleaned the instrument, they put the mouse back into the violin as it has become part of the history ....what is in yours?......what has become part of your builds?

Enough scrap wood to make a ship's boat if I ever got all the stuff out of the models😀   This was discussed during the Wellington Trust Webinar that was announced here at MSW early this year and there were some interesting finds with the use of the endoscope.

A a butter-fingered musician who has spent decades retrieving lost picks, I feel a compulsion to turn things over and shake anytime they fall into a hole in a wood structure.

Under construction: Mamoli Roter Lowe

Completed builds: Constructo Enterprise, AL Le Renard

Up next: Panart Lynx, MS Harriet Lane

In need of attention: 14-foot Pintail in the driveway

I pretty much try to get the stuff immediately.  Old habit I guess from way back back in my military days to recover debris ASAP from the choppers.  Keep that habit when I worked on my drag racer.  Learned to get the debris/parts out a quick as possible lest they be forgotten and then destroy the engine.

Odd pieces of lead shot that escaped the glue pour (I ballast my models for pics on the water).  I've remedied a few of them by drilling small hole, pouring more glue in, and rolling the model around until the loose shot "sticks."

apart from all the rubbish, ladders, cannons and other detail that has to be replaced, i always deliberately put a loose note in mine, say, what the build is, date started and completed, photo of me and family, etc etc, , no real reason i do it, i just do
