Just a quick update on our move.   The house is sold/under contract pending the inspection.   We are also under contract on the place we are moving to.   The holidays are slowing all the lawyer/closing stuff down so its going to be a slog.   Estimated close date is Feb 20 which kind of sucks.   Thats a long time but I do have a lot of stuff to pack up/and get rid of.   So my apologies for any inconveniences.   The online store will still see intermittent closures until sometime in January and then probably a hard close until I actually move in and set up the shop again.   Its all kind of out of my control as I have little to no time to restock stuff and even ship orders.  I greatly underestimated the amount of crap I have to do before moving....outside in the backyard and also in the many closets and storage areas.   I have a huge amount of stuff to give away or donate and clean out over the coming weeks.   AND...I am not as young and sturdy or quick, as I used to be. LOL  My bones are hurting.

New Orleans was a fun break in the frenzy but I am glad to be back to the grind. The WW2 museum is always a fantastic visit if any of you are ever in the neighborhood.

And i am very excited about where my shop will end up.  This is just one half of where my full shop will be minus the ping pong table but yes the pinball machine and foosball machine will remain part of the workshop.  Previous owners dont want any of this stuff so I am stuck getting rid of stuff in two houses now but hey it could be worse.

maybe i will keep the ping pong table too.

Its really a huge space for Syren and basically a 43’ x 36’ space divided into two rooms.  This is the room with the view I will mostly stay in to work.  Its a shame i will most likely ruin the carpet within a week.

Before setting up shop, you can always consider replacing the carpet with a smooth work floor that will be easy to sweep or vacuum.

The other half is tiled so hopefully it will be OK.   I just want to get in there and get open for business.   This in-between stage is the worst.   Then I can adjust as I go.   I have an industrial fume extractor being installed as well which will be vented out the roof.   That needs to be set up first thing for the laser cutter fumes and 3d printing fumes.  It will be housed in a sound proof box in the attic operated by wireless remote.   Its a pretty amazing set-up actually and is quiet as a whisper.   Then there is a the dust collection system as well.   So lots to do once we finally get in there.  Hence the delays and closings while all this is planned out.

FYI, when you get bored with downhill skiing or want a break from work, check out the ice boating on Lake Hopatcong just a short distance south of your new digs.  Of course climate change may hit them as bad as us up here. No ice anywhere up here last season. 😒😠

Best of luck on the move! Hope it all goes smoothly.

Looks great! Good to see you're installing an industrial fume extractor. Both the laser cutter and resin printer need to be vented. Too many people are 3D printing without any fume extraction and that resin is nasty stuff. Looking forward to seeing your completed new shop setup. Good luck with packing and moving.

Cheers,

Hang in there Chuck, keep the new shop and how awesome it's going to be in mind when going through the weeks of slogging through everything that has to happen. If you can set a goal date for when the new shop will be fully operational, and make a mental advent calendar that ticks down to that date. Sometimes it helps to measure just how close the light at the end of the tunnel is :)
