Three coats of gloss poly was apllied to the finishing resin to finish the outer hull. Then the coping was added to the cockpits and various pieces like step pads, lights, windshield brackets etc were also added.

Thanks Augie. Not really a fan of gloss finishes but it goes really well on these kind of models.

I'm with you on gloss.....but it looks great here.  These boats are real tributes to a time long passed.

Really exciting to see this done.  It is stunning!

 

I almost pulled the trigger on a 1/8th scale, 1930, 24ft runabout Chris Craft this morning that was on sale.  I hesitated and it is now on back order.  Dang it! I know I will build one some day though.
