looking good Ron.  your right about where I am on the Goth.....putting the blocks on the masts.  I know how you feel,  I can't wait to start rigging as well.  well done!

Looks great in the natural light Ron.  You'll enjoy the rigging as you watch her 'grow'.  Don't really know if you should try wrapping string around the local pretty ladies though

Hi Ron..... looks like you'er ready to do some rigging!!...... Make sure you ck all the plan sheets for block installation on the masts and deck, Now is the time to attach them when nothing is in your way. It's looking good , now the fun starts!!!

Hi Frank, thanks a lot for your advice.You really need to check all the plans alright.I finally found how many cleats to put on the masts by looking at all the later plans.

Yeah, Danny gave me a heads up on this awhile back and I'm sure glad he did. There were a lot of them I didn't have attached, so it was a good thing I ckd all the plans . just take your time ..... you've got a good build going!!!

Frank is right.  I'm in the process of attaching blocks to the yards and every time I look at the plans there are MORE of them.  I swear someone is sneaking into the shop at night and drawing them in.

 

But it's a lot easier to do them now.

Just looked at the extra blocks i need to attach to the masts and bowsprit and that's before Frank has got to it,quite a few to go yet.

Some of the bowsprit rigging,waiting on eye rings to finnish the blocks.Nice to be onto another stage of the ship.Hope i don't catch my sleeve in anything now.

Nice work on that bowsprit, Ron.  Short sleeves only from here on out and resist the urge to catch that pair of forceps you're going to drop.  This is the one 'sport' where good reflexes work against you!

Looks like you are on to it Ron - a fine bowsprit rig. I dreaded the rigging on my ship but ended up enjoying it.

here's something I like to try......should you drop a block on the floor,  drop another one,  and tell him to go find his brother.   the only drawback is,  in bad lighting or eyesight,  I sometimes end up with two MIA's

Thanks guys,just plodding away.Popeye you are dead right there,i usually find the first one after dropping the second,as long as you have spares you'll be alright,and don't use the vacumn cleaner until you've finnished the ship.

Ron are you talking about the ones that go thru the mast tops? If so I'm sure I used the ones that came with the kit. I did make a couple of them because they broke .I think I used 22 g wire .

Thanks Frank,they are the ones. I had 5mm deadeye strops but no 3.5 ones.I'll have

to try and make some.

Finally got a bit more done.I found a 3mm block with no hole in it,wonder if it's a collectors item.I came up with an idea for the deadeyes for attachment to the mast tops,should be ok.Onto the yards next.

Great job Ron, looks like a 'bit done', but with those tiny pieces in fact a lot is done.

great job fitting out the masts.......the bow spirit looks really nice as well.  doing a super job my friend!
