:D and I didn't even dare you..... at least not in words.

Nice work as always.

I've been cutting stanchions. 6 more to go on the main deck, then I can drill Scuppers. Those and drilling that rudder hole make me nervous.

Randy, your ship is really coming together nicely .  Your modifications are top notch - surely be a sight to see when it is all together and ready to sail.

Nice job!!!  :10_1_10:

Randy the only issue I see there is that your nests might be a tad too high, and they will interfere with your shroud lines that attach just below that "cap" thing on the mast. When I say interfere I mean only in that it will make it more difficult for you to wrap your shroud lines in the proper position on the mast and get the lines served. But, knowing you, you will find a work around for this anyway :D . Your work is top notch Randy

I think you can work around it just fine Randy, it will just take a little finesse, and from everything I see you can handle that just fine.

LOL Randy. Yes, the rigging instructions are a bit vague; especially, for us first time builders. However, compared to other parts of the instructions they are much, much, better. I know I had to post questions on my log that members very graciously answered for me. Knowing what I know now, when I read the AL instructions they now make perfect sense. Perhaps if you and I had begun with a simpler AL kit instead of one considered intermediate, the beginner instructions might have been more detailed. I for one will never know the answer to the question as I have no intention of of going backwards :P

I thought it was that rail on the hull that the lower deadeyes sit on, and the chainplates run through??

Just how the heck did you almost get caught up with me anyway??? Wow, I guess I took too much time off grading papers, and putting my garden in lol.

Yep Randy, time to decide what the next build will be. I "planned" to be done by my birthday, but with the few delays and setbacks I am going to miss that date by a couple weeks, should put me at about 6 months. Not too bad I guess.

Hint...coat the last half inch of the thread with CA...let dry thoroughly, then snip the end to a point...goes through the holes pretty slick that way! If you get a stubborn one, just trim the point back fresh again.

Wow, amazing how the same kit has different items in it! At least you got a complete spool. My thread came wrapped around a piece of cardboard and as I said in my log I only had enough of the ratline thread to do 1 1/2 of the 10 shrouds wtf... I replaced with embroidery thread as that is all I have access to here. Not the best thing, but useable for this build.

Yep, green. A lovely shade of fraying fuzzy moldy green... maybe to resemble the algae found in aquatic settings

And looking at that picture it looks like good thread... but don't be fooled... :o it's true nature was soon revealed... :(

Hello!

hey, its my last day down here and the wifi is working slowly but otherwise flawlessly, so I thought I would stalk your build site to see if you are indeed still alive  :)   good to know.

wow, when you said you were going to do this, I had not a clue of the detail, effort, creativity and time you would devote, nor how realistic and well, downright beautiful she would be!  holy crap!  I assume it is frowned upon to use expletives on this forum, so I will just say of the San Fran......  fan-freakin’-tastic!  I know how you love it when I circumfix....  she is MAGNIFICENT!  Really Randal....  good on ya, mate.  wish I had the time, patience and bucks to do something like this.....  of course if I had all those things, I would still lack skill.  love the pix.  thanks for letting me set up to “lurk”

next week....  caw caw.... that’s what the crow said..... :)
