Looks great! As for the sheet blocks, EdT had to make a bunch of these for his Young America. I have one I need to make for my KC. Being that I don't have a fitting to fall back on, I was considering trying Ed's method...Well, at least a facsimile there of...

I am rigging model shipways constitution. I notice a difference in location of topsail between plan and picture on instructions. I am also following a build log that shows a different location. The print shows rigged with sails. I am rigging without sails .topgallant and royal also have different locations. Thanks

Ken. I think you will find that the decision whether or not to include the red-stripe basically comes down to dating your build to a specific time-frame.

It would appear that, at various stages of her illustrious career, there has been a white gun-port stripe, a yellow gun-port stripe, as well as the red dressing belt stripe. Most likely, other variations and combinations were used at different times and by different commanders. After all, she was a war-ship, and subterfuge is all a part of the Art of War.

See USS Constitution Yellow Hull Stripe here for the discussion on this matter.

Incidentally, that is a brilliant practicum on copper-plating and I am certain it will prove very, very useful to many Connie builders in the future.

Check Plan Sheet 4 from your kit. The planks at 1/8" (3mm) width would be the ones you want.

    Hello David..
As Ray says, it does look nice but I still wonder if it is laser cut or does one have to cut the butt pieces out of strip planking?

    Hi Denis

Very nice work on the gallows.  Like you, I'm not sure how it's all going to come together, what with the gallows, booms and lines, etc, but I'm sure looking forward to seeing how you do it.

All the best for the weekend!

    Cheers

If you can spile, spile. If you can't look for softer wood.
I have to say, it takes a lot of determanation to sand away the work you have done.
