      Hi Axel,

thanks for your interest im my Pamir model and for your kind words. As you have seen, my Pamir is representing the way she looked like when she went down in a hurricane near the Azores Islands in 1957. Due to some changes to the original ship, (as well as her sistership Passat way back in 1951/1952, the look differs a bit from the original build.

To get the (complete scratch built) model started, I used a  birthplace Blohm and Voss Hamburg construction drawing, adopting bulkheads and shape of the hull. I also purchased a construction drawing of shipyard Howaldtswerke Deutsche Werft in Kiel, resembling the changes in 1951/1952

There is a Revell plastic model of the Pamir (scale 1:250), of which I found a broken down torso for peanuts on Ebay. That plastic model is representing the Pamir of her look when she went down. This was a good aid for getting the contours, dimensions, and Deck arrangement right in scale. In my build log you will find, amoungst many other details, a scetch-overview of the deck housings vents, etc, with dimensions im (MM).

I wish you much fun and good success with your build

      Best regards, Nils

  5. p.s.....................oh....tumeric is a very good herb also......just thought i'd mention....
  6. just curious as to what lens(s) you use to take your superb shots.................you probably could have a whole thread describing your camera, lighting, and techniques.....sorry don't want to distract you....just a quicky and the fascinating thing is, while the whole world is falling apart around you, you and hubac sit and create these fantastic creations on almost a microscopic level, that maybe 1% of the population may find interesting....that sure is one definition of love.....
  7. wow....bless you, and i pray you keep well....keep a few drops of oil of oregano in your mouth or maybe even on your mask.......great stuff.....
  8. such beautiful lines....such beautiful work......though few in this world truly appreciate......a shrine to the creator......God is smiling......

  11. oh my god....after seeing this....i just don't feel very well....nope...i don't feel very well at all.....😵....don't think i'll build anything again....just browse and be in awe....every performer has to have an audience....i'll remain a professional audience 🙂......bless this woman.....
  12. regarding the shine or flatness of the hull, i kinda imagine i'm a seagull back in time, flying near the ship and i try to imagine what it looked like from above, like someone looking at a model.....though i haven't checked photos of replicas of ancient ships to see how they looked....just an interesting perspective...........
  13. gads.....the detail....yer gonna make me wanna start building again.....sheesh!
