Hi Bob. Have you decided on a name yet. Having looked through some of them I do not envy you the task of naming one. They all have a historic name for them selves. Frank.

Cheers Bob and Don. I know what you mean Don, but its only about four to five hours do I work on this ship. But plan ahead on whats next. So two 18 Pdrs arrived today from Cornwall model boats, so it was to that and some ratlines i worked on today. The 18 Pdr Carronades and two 4 Pdr guns. Painted up with glos black and later will use Admiralty black. 18 Pdrs also have both Hum black and Admiralty red applied. Last the 4 pounders, for the eyelets I used Dafis etched one's,( they come in handy for all types of ships). Will use dafis King George V mongrams later. Frank.

Thanks very much Don, much appreciated. Well have had second thoughts on the carronades and removed to add later the caldercraft 18 Pdrs. Near finished the ratlines('phew') and added some of Dafis shroud cleats. The rigging is coming on now. With the carronades removed I have added the planking in the gun apertures. Also the ratlines. So overall picture so far. You will note I have temp put ropes to hold Gaffs till block/ropes fitted. This stops all flapping about while working on it. So from a Frigate/fictitious to a near Brig. The wife now wants this one in the window. Frank

Thanks for showing a very nice piece of work. Like your Idea's too. Putting Carronades instead of Long guns, well thats modern thinking for you!! Look forward to more of your changes. Frank.

You have to have fun too. But if there's abetter way , then go for it. Once you have the first planking done, I found the second layer is much more fun,;and quicker too'. Frank.

Well it seems were all near each other, I am in Hayle between you both. Have found the soaking is good for most planks, that is 1mm thick, not tried on thicker wood planking. I use a bender, but not sure if its necessary to purchase one of these. I do soak the wood first. But found it usefull. Frank

Been thinking on that kit Earmonn. Looks very Interesting. I have the Pickle and those little carranades need more than just one rope attached, so lovely job mate. What paint did you use for the trucks. Frank

Thanks Bob mate. Decided that the hull will be White so to that end. With some sanding and then another coat(sanding) I got the finish ready for spraying. Used Admiralty White for this. Came out all right I thought. Next was the stays, the two fore and main. Thanks Bob and Mike for looking in. Frank.

Cheers Bob and Mike. Will show later Bob on the Bow decoration!!!! Next I turned my attention to the stern, having some spare lanterns and deciding to place davits here I took the plung. Fitted the Gafboom with parrels. Took a look at the two boats I am going to use, one on the stern davit and one on the deck grating. A little work here. They did not turn out to bad. Started work on the Bowsprit. Added sprityard. Some railings on the poop deck. Thanks for looking in. Frank

Cheers Bob, yep this build is really getting me hooked on wood ships, (even have the Pickle to do now). Well its on with this build. Made up the Burton Pendants out of aluminium rod and attached rope to this, found they sit better when hanging. Which tells you I am on the shrouds next, using Syren rope for this part.the blocks come with the kit and Amati chains. So to all the starboard side inplace. Worked on the bow section with grating/heads and then used 2mm maple wood for this area. Started doing some fancy work for this area too. Don't know how this will pan out yet. Thanks for looking. frank.

'Ok'. To cut a long story short I have continued with this because so many are twisting me arm, I will show the work so far. Added deadeyes to the channels. Using Amati etchings. Then it was time for the masts, these had to be formed and shaped. Next it was the yards. With added blocks from varies makers. So it continues. Thanks for looking in folks. Frank

Thanks Bob,JSR and Mark. Its nice to know that some appreciate the work we all do here to get a near representation of the real thing. But for the new art/etch that is being produced, this helps all of us to get near perfection. 'Keep it coming I say'. Frank

Thanks folks for your very nice comments. I will get back to this very soon and finish it by the end of the year. All is now in place to really concentrate and finish. Thanks again for looking in. Frank

Cheers bob mate. Well it seems this is to old to be of any Interest. I am enjoying it any way and will continue. But not here. There are some excellent builds here, so will still come aboard to see and comment. But will not post any more on this build. Thanks to those folks who took the trouble to look in and comment. Bye for now. Frank

Hi well its to the flag staff I am working on. Decided to not use the stern chaser. The flag staff can be used or from the jib boom. A picture of some of the other poop deck fittings, I have used Dafis Hammock net stanchions for this part Have re done the handles for the steps as the dia was to big to scale for this part. The channels was next with plastic supports I had left over from another build. Turning out a very pleasing ship to work on. The next item I put me grey cells to were the Deadeye's, I had three choices but chose the right hand one's, these are 5mm and 3mm for the top shrouds. The mast are next and the plans are very vague in this area, but think that tomorrow will be the day to have a go at this part of the build. An over all picture of the progress so far. Note carranades removed to allow work here on the eye lets. Thank you for looking in and not bad for three weeks work so far. Frank.
