  1. Octtuplet 20mm cannons. Over a day’s work to do 6 of them, individual barrels, ammo cans, brass and resin. I wanted to do these up first to see how they fit on top of the main and secondary guns to measure up the railing stanchions that go on top of them. You can see the three piece gun in the centre is just no comparison
  2. OC, they’re Korean Banyan, the eyes start to cross and the concentration just goes completely which just means you have to stop.
  3. Now it feels like I’ve done a lot on this ship, until I do a dryfit
  4. @cog @Canute @popeye the sailor It arrived and parked ready for some Infini PE when it comes out.
  5. Sigh, to prove a point that Pontos did not use the KVG for their KVG upgrade, the bridge piece is s not the same. I’m about cross eyed from the wind deflectors. It is easier to break the piece apart and instead of a 1 piece requiring 15 bends, it’s 5 pieces requiring about 3 bends each. As you can see i had to use a razor saw on the flybridge to get the side panels on. The Instructions say this piece is flat.
  6. Nope, wise to that little trick too! yes, the Australian ensign was not in use until the mid 60’s I’ve been told so I had to remove it
  7. Ha, so many patient women (or men; we went to the stage show of Priscilla last night, marvellous). Minus 6 her last night apparently which is exceptionally cold here in Oz. Popeye, how far off are you? Take your time, more time to offer Cog advice of course.
  8. For some reason the Pontos instructions are not for the Tamiya KVG. The main gun director is a different piece to the ones used in the instructions and is about 3mm too low and both are utterly devoid of details at the front. I used the main turret lug to lift it up enough. The secondary gun directors had a radar between them in the Pontos 41 version but not in the 43 version. It also gives you some gantry that go beneath them that are on the POW but never on KGV. Next will be the bridge facade and wind deflectors. I can’t glue it all up yet as I want to prime it then do the decks on this piece as there are binoculars, search lights, signal lamps, more MG directors, flag lockers.
  9. Quick 3 hour drive up the road for our wedding anniversary, I love this town, a couple of days away from the tools.
  10. It’s loosely translated as “can talk underwater with mouth full of marbles”. Kangaroos on the other hand, are nowhere near as dangerous as the traditional Australian drop bear
  11. It’s a good looking kit, I really like the camo designs they used, and I’m looking forward to how you weather her and the weathering between the colours
