  1. Hello everybody, I started chapter 4 now, and made 2 of those fantastic gun's at the beginning. I think the red carriage suits better, but the natural carriage is beautiful as well. Next I planked the lower deck platforms and glued the deck beams an deck sheats in position. All turned out well, no problems so far. This broadside will look wonderful, once completed!! Matthias
  2. Hello Chris, Wonderful set of boats!! Will you offer them in 1:72 scale as well? Matthias
  3. Here is some more Information about the ship. Matthias
  4. Good morning Herbert. There exist detailed plans from Harold Underhill about LEON. He even wrote two books about building this model. There are lots of Informations. I suppose, you need the original dimensions? Or of the model 1:48 scale? Matthias
  5. Merry Christmas to all of you. I hope you are enjoying some time with your shipmodels. My wife got me an incredible book about the shipmodels of the musee de la marine in Paris. Looking at the great cabin of the frigate "La Flore" makes me dreaming of finally continuing my Winchelsea!!! My rigging project made some Progress, but I am running out of blocks, so Winnie will continue soon. Matthias
  6. Hi Matt, thanks for your sympathy! While waiting for some parts, I started the rigging of an 1/75 Model of a frigate. The parts for the next Winchelsea arrived long time ago, but the rigging takes so much time, that I didn't yet continue with the next chapter. Here are some pictures, of where I'm stuck at the moment. Examples from NMM Making sails making the yards and adding the sails most of the time goes to reading to understand, how the rigging works.
  7. Hi, your model looks beautiful, but what happened to your friezes? They Keep in better condition, of you spray them with varnish, before gluing them in place. Matthias
  8. stern frieze.pdf If anyone is interested in using the pictural stern frieze of HMS Winchelsea for his model, feel free to use this pdf-file. Matthias
  9. Hello Everybody, Chapter III is done now, the model looks so beautiful, thanks again Chuck, for this design. so it is time now to do some cleaning and repairs and maybe continue rigging of a few older models. They all can't keep up with the Winni, but I still like them. Matthias
  10. Well done Reg. Your stern arrangement looks very good! And I like your base. It looks really nice with those brass collumns. Where have you got them from? Matthias
  11. Hello everybody, thanks for the likes and comment. Here is a little update of my work on the stern columns. This is so much fun, building this model. Thanks Chuck. Matthias
  12. The carvings are now added to the stern. I had some trouble to get the right balance of Neptun and Diana. (is it Diana, or Athene?), because Neptun is a little bit larger. Here you can see the result. Matthias
  13. Thanks for the comments and likes, here some pictures of the model, after adding the moldings at the stern. Matthias
  14. Hi Steve, that looks good! Just a little thing: The lower molding at the bow should be longer, so there is no gap to the stem. Matthias
  15. The friezes and Fancy moldings on both sides together with the Qgallery-roofs are now finished. After printing the friezes, I sprayed the paper 2-3 times with varnish, then cut it out and glued it to the model. Here are some Pictures. Now I look forward to the stern with all the wonderful carvings from Jack. That will be the absolute higlight of my so far modelbuilding. Matthias
  16. Okay thanks for the advice. I will close the Qgallery with tape from the inside, that might help against the dust. I actually just spent more than one hour searching one of the windows wich fell down when I carried the model outside, thats why I spontaniously glued them to the model. I was so happy finding it inside the doormat. Matthias
  17. Today I almost finished the port side Qgallery. These photos are always so mercyless. Now I see the incorrect angles and the bent window glazing. I didn't see that in my workshop under the artificial light. But there is still the starbord Qgallery to do it better. Matthias
  18. Maybe my profile is just scraped too thin at the lower edge. It was a great moment, adding the first of Jack‘s superb figures to the model.
  19. I started building the Qgalleries. Chuck, did you somehow double up the upper fancy molding? I had to put a strip underneath it, otherwise the collums would not fit underneath the profile. I also sanded the roof, but that does not fit properly yet.
  20. Chuck, That model is another example with red painted coamings. Wich one is it? The cabin panels of your Winni look great, even upside down !!!
