I decided to equip the ship with a compass cabinet, as a ship on long voyages it surely must've had one. Created according to the monograph of Bounty.
Further I've created the steering wheel rack..
According to the Sergal sails I created new sails and adjusted the height of the masts accordingly, the masts in the kit were too tall. Further work on the masts is already in accordance with the monograph of Royal Caroline ..Further created the topmasts and the foundations of the tops ..

Finished guns with hoists ..
I decided to provide the model with sails, so I ordered the ones Sergal offers as a complement to the model ..
The quality of the sails, however, is comparable to the quality of the model, it is poor ....I measured the sails according to the plan, modified them a little for greater historical authenticity. I had them dome by Radelshipmodels ....
The quality is much better ...I also decided to replace lime logs from the kit with Ramin, it has a better color of the wood.
bowsprit made of Ramin ...

Thank you for your continuing log. I've finally got to get back to mine a bit. I'm a big fan of some of the mods you've made. I hope you don't mind if I take some inspiration from them in my own.
This is an inexpensive kit, but I believe that a nice model can be made of it. I like to draw inspiration from other forums as well.
Next in line were the cannons.
Again, I rjected those in the kit and created new ones, cannon barrels Amati, carriages
made of walnut wood.
The ironwork is partially brass and paper.

Chain-plates placed on the hullBlocks placed under the sheet bittsThe blocks, eyelets, clamp deadeyes and the belaying included in the kit were poorly made, I've purchasednew ones from a Czech manufacturer "Radekshipmodels.cz"According to the monograph of Endeavour I've made the last solid deck equipment - the pumps

You're builidng a superb President!
Amazing
Thank you very much! The deckeck equipment in the ships plan is also fabricated, I haven't seen it on any other ship. I began to arrange the deck according to the monograph of Royal Caroline. I made new sheet bitts and a new ships bell ..The flag in the kit was not in scale and it was from the bad time period after 1805.An acquaintance of mine has created a new set of flags for the year 1760, so far the back flag is made and placed on the flag pole.- russ, CaptainSteve and mtaylor

I've redone the too thick rudder fittings and finished another hinge, they were too few.
I created a new rudder of wood. The one in the kit was too thick.
I started creating stern decorations made of baked clay, I tried to copy the metal cast decorations.
Stern decorated
Model placed on a stand. I placed a temporary board under it to prevent hull damage during handling. And I've attached the rudder.
Rudder done.

I darkened the very bright deck using graphite and I've marked the pinnning with a needle and graphite
I kept looking for a pattern of this ship and I found it. Among Chapman's plans under number 52, it is the
English West India Trader. So the draft is almost exact. A pity that I did not find it sooner.
The view of the stern decoration proves this.
I measured the model using 1:87 figures and the kit is actually in a 1:90 scale, I do not understand why the
manufacturer doesn't present it as such.

Lining of the deck made of maple laths 0,5 x 3 mm, joints made of black thread.
Wales according to the instructions, wooden laths 2x3 and 2x2 mm added to the plating. I have created these using strips of 1.5 x 3 mm recessed in the second plating of walnut strips 0.5 x 3 mm. Pinning indicated using a needle.
Ram repaired using putty and blue painting.
Finished railings and decks before placing pins.

I am sorry. I saved the text in English, but I also had patches compiler, error ...Here is the original, can be adjusted..? thanks Ondras
After a long time I returned to the construction of a wooden sailboat model. As the first kit I chose a kit I found on the Internet, it´s the "President frigate" made by Sergal.
After studying the package, I found out that the model is not quite true to type, or scale. The scale described as 1:60 in my opinion disagrees. I calculated the model to be 1:90 scale, which is more accurate.
This is more of a model than an exact replica, but I decided to modify it. I´m building the deck equipment and rigging according to the monograph of the ship Royal Caroline, it is the same size and the era corresponds aswell.
I began the construction in August 2012. I aim for a most authentical processing of details for which I draw inspiration from available books and documents.
Wooden parts of the kit are good, but the details and ornaments aren´t. Since the beginning of the construction I´ve been taking photos, I´m posting a few to share the experience..- WackoWolf and FrankWouts
