Hello John, welcome aboard and glad you're enjoying the build. I'll be back to work shortly. My website has been taking a lot of time, but hopefully it will be pretty complete by the end of the weekend. I'm anxious to start rigging her. I have a lot of good photographs to make sure I get it right. Stay tuned.

Here's another great shot of the Morgan undersail with a Humpback Whale sounding. Ironic isn't it. A Whaling Ship that hasn't sailed since 1941 is at sea just off the coast of Connecticut on her first voyage since restoration with a whale along side....sailing together In Peace....

Well Done my friend. She's come a long way since last year when I visited her. Pop would be proud...very proud. All she needs is a pond to cross. I guess I'll have to have another Leffe Blond this evening, so I'll be toasting ya for a job well done. Our best to Gwen.

Hello everyone that's been following along. As some of you are aware have been working on getting a website up and going. I am very happy to announce after over a year of working on obtaining this that I AM NOW AN AUTHORIZED PROXXON DISTRIBUTOR. This should be up and running on my website by the end of next week. You have no idea how happy this makes me.

The question of where to find the Testor's Green Glue has come up before, and since many of us don't have local hobby stories nearby we tend to shop online for these type of products. I have this product available on my website for anyone in need on the Tools & Resource page. Here's the link for convenience. http://www.charleswmorganmodel.com/tools--resources.html

Hi Popeye, thanks for dropping by. I've been going to post on "the gang" will they be ready for Christmas? Yes, I will be resuming this log as soon as I can get back to work. My website has been taking my time right now, but it is getting closer to be finished as we speak. It should be done in a few more days and hopefully can resume ship building. Some big announcements coming soon.

Hello Lawrence, good to hear from you. It's good to be back. Updates to be posted soon. Great picture isn't it? At sea at last, and ironically a Humpback Whale sounded along side her shortly after that picture was taken....together "in Peace"...swimming and playing.

Hello my friend, I haven't forgotten you...just got real busy. Your work never ceases to amaze me. The boat has come a long ways since I saw her a year ago. How time flies. I'm glad I got to see it way back when, that way I can really appreciate where it is now. Here's a Leffe Blond at you my friend. By the way you got me hooked on that stuff. Glad Gwen is doing well and healed as well as you I hope. Glad to see you checked my website. What do you think? More later, just catching up.

Hi Mike, I'd love to see you get started with your CWM. The one stop site is what I'm trying to accomplish. I hope it will be helpful to those that attempt to build her. Glad you got to visit her, must have been after she returned from Boston. You mike like this picture. This is the Morgan Undersail 7-23-2014

My site will have in the Gallery photographs of the Restoration of the Morgan completed after 5 years and $7 million. Other Models of the Morgan, Other model ships in General, The 38th Voyage of the Morgan this past summer, My model of the USS Constitution, and who knows what else as this thing grows. I've already had a tremendous response and it's only been published Online for 2 days. I'm trying to feature tools, discussions and references with links to find them, so any input would be welcome. Thanks guys, please pass on the link and information.

Good Afternoon Boys and Girls and Ships at Sea.....we're back to the home port from our ventures along the West Coast. The RV thing seems to be longer and longer and might be a permanent full time thing in the future. Ships can be built in RV's so this could work, and all our tools are small enough to carry in a basement, so I could become a roving ship modeler. During the course of this trip, I have realized that it is difficult to communicate with all my friends here and keep up with everything. I have kept following all of you along the way, but not communicating since it wouldn't be "ship related" per the rules. Therefore, I have created a website concerning the Charles W Morgan. I invite all of you to visit frequently as it has a thorough detailed build log, tool and reference discussions, a Gallery and an email list form so that I can keep current with everyone who wants to follow along. It has a Blog and even a Ship's Store. The pictures that were lost a few months ago from this log are shown on my website instead of taking the time to try to figure out how to replace them here. The same amount of time would have been wasted. It is currently still being completed so please be patient, however, it is about 90%. I will continue to follow everyone's build and make appropriate commments as everyone progresses. I probably will only post significant changes to my log here on MSW and the majority of all other pictues and posts will be on my own site. I hope all of you will check it out, fill in the Contact form and follow along regularly. Everyone has been progressing nicely on their builds and I will be posting shortly. Please come look and let me know what you think. Please leave comments or email me. Thanks guys, you're all the greatest, John Here's the link: http://www.charleswmorganmodel.com Copy and paste probably

Congrats Aug.....can't believe it's been a year. Looks great as usual. We're in Custer, South Dakota for a couple of weeks. Then we're down into Colorado, New Mexico then eventually home to the ship yard. I think I forgot what the Morgan looks like...keep up the good work, now the fun begins...deck stuff.

Well, today was one of those bucket list items, and well worth it. We are camped on the Columbia River between Oregon & Washington, and drove up through the Columbia River Gorge. God's beauty never ceases to amaze! Actually in our opinion it surpasses Yosimite. Off tomorrow to Mt St Helens and Mt Ranier....we're staying in between them on a lake.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
