Hi Joseph, good to see your posts. My camera does the same thing....brings out the flaws and actually pronounces them. I go back to try and correct them and can't find them. The naked eye is not as critical as a magnified camera lense. So rather than pull out the few remaining hairs left on my head, I have grown to accept that it won't be perfect. There are some incredible craftsmen on this forum, so there is a very high standard for us to compare ours to. After visiting the Mystic Seaport Research Center back in October, one of the main disappointments was that in their "vault", about a 10,000 square foot area which is only available to limited people (I got lucky and got permission from the Man in charge of the restoration project of the Morgan for entry and a private tour)that there are probably 700+ ship models stored on racked shelves. No one is allowed to see these and they are not displayed. Some are hundreds of years old. Didn't mean to get on a soapbox here. Anyway, we are our biggest critics. Your ship looks wonderful, keep it up.

Hi Dan, I like to visit Denver, and one of my best friends lives in Littleton, but I don't want to live there. Today is in the 60's, clear and sunny....just took the Ferari out for a spin....nice....

Well, it's a little cool here today, so working in the garage is out. However it should be back in the 70's tomorrow and Friday. The trees have all budded out....spring is almost here. I plan to build a wood sled for my Dremel table saw next, then might get some shipyard time. Many of you have been making nice progress on your builds. My next goal is making the chainplates and deadeyes.

Thanks Mobbsie, with Augie's help I have now been in touch with Marc Mosko owner of Model Expo who has assured me that this will be resolved. The guy I was dealing with Tom Snow is no longer with the company. Looks like ME is getting back on track to where they used to be. Good for them. I'll keep everyone posted as to the results.

Hi guys, back in December and January, I had a lot of difficulty dealing with Model Shipways in an attempt to get a few replacement items for the Morgan. Needless to say it still is not resolved. I read somewhere in one of the Forums a ple from the owner of MS tht he was assuning the role of taking the company back from previous management and he was welcoming any input or comments - critisizms etc and gave his company email address for comments. I cannot seem to locate that Forum or remember his name. I would like to contact him and forward the many emails I sent to MS during this time to see if he can help me. So, if anyone can please remember his name or how to contact him I would appreciate it. Most of my emails were either ignored or improperly answered which is not what this company is all about and I feel he should know about it. Thanks for the help for myself and anyone else that had similar experiences.

Incredible looking as usual....no wonder this thing capsized with all the drippings on her. Most ornate I think I've ever seen. Nice work as usual.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
