  1. Good evening/afternoon/morning, I've been busy planking the topsides and round the gunports, I'm reasonably content that it's ok and with a fair amount of sanding will look better. I've dry fitted the bollards but may make another pair as I'm not completely happy with this attempt But for now Winnie is off the build board and sitting upside down on a stand I've knocked up for continuing planking the hull below the wales I just have to fit the drop planks and the first two strakes before lining out the bulkheads for the plank runs. Thanks for the likes and comments, all advice and critique is welcome. Cheers till next time 😉👍 PS when I can sort out why my photos are appearing upside down, I'll post a couple more.🤔
  2. Great results with the mouldings Glenn, I'm glad I held off with buying the Amati scrapers, I'll dig some more brass hinges out! I admire the effort you're putting in on Cheerful, it's definitely paying dividends, a joy to watch😁
  3. I did read in the Mark Urban "Rifles" book that for expediency on the battlefield soldiers would urinate in the barrel to help loosen powder deposits if it became difficult to load. How much of that is true I cannot say, but it sounds plausible.
  4. I'll follow along also, seeing someone turn flat card into a model is always amazing. I've also tried but they get the better of me too!!
  5. Way out of my comfort zone but could it be a depiction of some sort of loading tackle , like later cargo vessels used the main or fore yards to sway cargo aboard?
  6. Nice work on the bulwarks Glenn, I've also been looking forward to seeing you do your moulding as I know you purchased the scrapers, I think from Amati? and I'm interested to see what you think of them? I really like the red as it's a good contrast with the AYC
  7. At least it was a good day out with friends 😉 and next time will be easier as you got this dry run in!! Jocularity aside she looks a fine beast. You and the others have done a great job!
  8. I'm glad to see you've got over this problem, the grooves were an inspired idea, as were the threaded eyelets. On my Cutter I shelled out for some .8mm ply from CMB, a tad pricey for 600 x 300mm. Good work so far Bruce
