  1. I'm with Lou on the photos, with flash as without looks a little dark. Looking good 😁
  2. I see what you mean, looks like Monster House from the kids film of the same name, nice abode for yourself though Lou 😁
  3. I will look forward to those logs Jack. Those woods should look spectacular with a gloss varnish like the full size Manhassett
  4. Patrick, I hope you're feeling better quickly and you get the better of the awful virus!
  5. Welcome to MSW Jon and happy sailing!
  6. Hi, after reading through the options you've been given I'll add mine if I may. Any household filler would suffice, I've found powder that you mix preferable to ready mixed as you'd be able to get the consistency to suit your needs. From childhood modelling papier mache I used was any cheap paper(newspapers) and wallpaper paste. Good luck with your build👍
  7. Same as everyone else, welcome back Craig. I think cars of the 30s and 40s looked beautiful, nice sweeping curves. I'm in for this one!
  8. Of course, nothing out of place here in Blighty, old chap!!😁 As Lou said, coming along nicely 😀
  9. Now Winnie is upside down, planking continues painfully slowly as I'm probably getting one strake on each time. Life has had an impact on my modelling time but I've got the first band of planking plus the drop plank in place on the starboard side. I will recheck the lining off for the next 3 bands and adjust as necessary. Sorry no photos but I will try a get a few up next time. Thanks for looking in and the likes. Cheers
  10. Don't beat yourself up Kevin, it's looking great😁
  11. Clotilda's coming on Denis, and you do keep picking up those obscure models😏 but I'm sure you'll do your magic and turn out something close to perfection!
  12. Looking really nice, you have done some great work!
  13. It's good to see you back Jack, working or not. These are strange times we're living through!! Take care and get better my friend 😉
  14. Yes it seems to be a one way thing, as the majority of products from the states attract either import duty , VAT or both!!
  15. Bravo Glenn, definitely a hull to be proud of!! Excellent work 😁👍
  16. Wishing all who need them speedy recoveries😉 I have to agree with OC, didn't get taught much of American history apart from the loss of the colonies, so all this history from you all is very entertaining and welcome as a prelude to the main feature 😁
  17. You never know, it could be the start of a fleet of floaty things😏😁 Looking forward to the build and having my education updated and upgraded.
  18. Come up on deck Jack they're just doling out the grog rations. Was that the Australian and New Zealand navies? I knew they were involved in Singapore and Malaysia but didn't know the helped out the US Navy .
  19. Count me in, I feel I'm going to be learning a great deal of the US Navy of the WW2 Pacific campaign😁 👍
  20. Nice bit of work Tim!😉, as to scratch without a band saw, I'm sure there's quite a few builders on here who are building scratch with very few power tools and cutting frames with coping or fret saws. Imho I think you should give it go, you certainly have the skills. Just my two pennies worth. 👍😁
  21. Good to see you back working on this and Clothilda although I have been enjoying your excellent WW1 Flying Circus type builds Edit: only camera I have is the one on my phone! I don't think the current Mrs Kenway would approve a budget for photography 😔
