  1. Finally got to watch the video👍 Wow, that looked fun!!! I don't know why but I never thought of one of those yachts heeling over. The camera shots were fantastic, gave a real sense of speed and exhilaration. I can see why you do it Jack 😁
  2. Lovely work on the head timbers!! you are doing a grand job on the whole ship, it's enjoyable to watch along 😃😉
  3. welcome to MSW With a build log you will find plenty of help and advice from other members. Good luck and have fun😉
  4. Belated great job on your model of the Rocket, I like the lego "volunteer" pilot. I think my internet is being mardy as it won't let me get on you tube at the moment, I shall try to watch the Rocket launch after the router has had some naughty step😤
  5. Exception to rules #1 & #2 : when the customer is on the phone and not in the store, in your face, they are always wrong. Insistence that you are right leaves you talking to a dead line😠
  6. Superb gun rigging, you're doing an amazing job with Sherbourne. With all the brilliant rigging of guns just recently in various logs, I can see I'm going to have to fully rig my next lot of artillery 😏
  7. So once again the French throw another column against the defenders in the farm!! Looking real good OC. The two KGL looked good with full kit😉
  8. I guess it's high tea but I suppose correctly it should be dinner but I have that at lunchtime so it's "me tea". Confused, so am I!! there's nowt so strange as the English 😆 How long do you think it will take you to complete the restoration? I also searched YouTube and watched one or two of the videos, it's quite a popular pastime isn't it? Some of the yachts look as though the pilot is just balancing on the beam, but it does look fun!!😁
  9. Thanks for the link Jack, there's some heart gone into the restoration. I shall be catching up after I've had my tea😉. Edit : I think its 1906 also, as the last digit is so different to the nine. Still have the two previous years to catch up on😃👍
  10. That trailer is a great piece of kit Jack, but then I suppose you need the lifting jib to get those large pieces of wood out. Do you use it step the mast as well? Hopefully you'll get some ice this winter 😏 , over here in UK we're getting wetter milder winters☔
  11. Sewing pins are cheaper and easier to source than wire stiff enough for the job required, 😁 necessity is the mother of invention. Great stuff Phil, this really is fun to watch
  12. Apparently his piles were playing up as well. Definitely a close run thing, to us Wellingtons words. I do think if Napoleon had been at Quatre Bras the day before, the battle at Waterloo probably wouldn't have happened and the British army would be experiencing a retreat to the coast harried by French cavalry. As it was Marshall Ney commanded and did not start an attack till late in the day which subsequently let the British rearguard hold them while the rest of the army slipped away.
  13. Thanks to all who hit the like button👍 So I began the planking on the port side with the external bulwarks and to just below the main wale. I've also lined the rest of the hull for planking below the wale. I shall take a bit more time with this side and attempt to improve on the starboard side!! thanks for looking in. Cheers till next time 😃
  14. From card and filler to a good looking hull!! Great work Phil 👍😁
  15. No it wasn't heavily manned but as it was sat on the main road across the valley and in the centre any columns attacking down this road would have been enfiladed by the farm garrison and morale weakened before they reached Wellingtons line, also once past the garrison could sally out and attack the rear of the column that was being blasted by the rolling platoon volleys from the British line in front. So he didn't want a thorn like that in his side. In my opinion, if he had left Hougoument and concentrated on his centre and his right flank he probably could of routed the British and her allies before Prussian forces appeared on his right. But that is only my opinion with the benefits of hindsight and a wealth of historical information. Other better informed people may have differ reasons for his distraction with the farm and Hougoument.
  16. The odds are swinging in favour of the British now! Only 1 to 2😆 Keep it up and you'll have both forces done by autumn!!! Very nice work
  17. I'd forgotten you'd got this on the backburner as well. Looking forward to more updates 😏👍
  18. Excellent re-modelling with the back of him OC. 50/50 is a good compromise. They're coming along nicely.
  19. I bought one last month to try and save having to pay for pre-milled planks, have had decent success but would recommend also buying the 0.6mm blade as the one supplied makes more sawdust than plank☹ If buying in the UK, CHRONOS are pretty good, not the cheapest but supply ready for UK use, plus standard delivery in the price. Just my two pennies worth.
  20. @Kevin thankyou for that link, there was alot I didn't know in it eg the Dutch and German troops 👍 @Canute yes, if they are as well painted as the French, they will look superb. The 60th did get a mention in one of the sharpe books, Sharpes Regiment I think it was, but it's a shame they are not as well known as the 95th🤔
  21. And to good effect in all accounts It was an effective way of skirmishing, the British army formed the 60th light regiment from willing Americans but I cant remember wether is was before the 1812 war or after, they also were rifle green but without the black trim.
  22. Underling!! Damn your eyes sir, he's an officer!! Or Lord Cardigan in Waterloo to Wellington "I appear to have lost my leg sir"
