Hi Denis, thanks for your words.... much appreciated.. the surplus vent tubes will be trimmed for weight reasons (brass in that amount gives reasonable weight), each funnel will be lashed down with 10 guy wires Nils

Very nice restoring work Michael, and quite a task to get all those boats in order again, the result is good looking I`m just reminded of the boats fabrication I still have to push on when I get to that sequence... Nils

Thanks to John Greg and Mark, for your kind words.... and also to all the recent "likes" for clicking on.. John, thanks for your compliment Greg, I have`nt found the right place in my home to display the case with the KWdG yet, when it finaly will be completed. My hobby office is already displaying 5 glass-cased models like a little museum.... Mark, thanks for your compliment, I unfortunately could`nt find any photos of the actual ships horn, so the detail was modeled to what related detail I could find on the web.... Nils

Thank you Bob, I`m also happy with the look of the funnels, they are a bit like the funnels of my "Heinrich Kayser" merchant steamer... Nils

Thank you so much Jan, Denis, Michael and Albert, for your nice words and compliments.... Jan, yes you`re right, the unmistakeable silhouette is only given with the four stacks on.. Denis, glad you like the progress... Michael, I must admit, I`ve been busy the last days, but the details have come together now. The 4 stacks will deach be fitted with ladders to the top, and the first one will get a 3-tone steam-horn on half the hight Nils

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
