  1. Wow, love that figurine and the uniqueness of the overall design for your stand Rob. Looks great! cheers Pat
  2. From what you describe, I think your choice of option 1 is best also. In the end though it is your choice Richard. Is this just for aesthetics or to waterproof them? If the latter, I think you ample coats to do that. cheers Pat
  3. Excellent craftsmanship Eberhard, they are looking very seaworthy. cheers Pat
  4. Nice work Rob, those channels with the chainplates etc look great. cheers Pat
  5. Thanks Dave, I have a copy (paperback)m of the Sirius Past and Present, and a coffee table book of the First Fleet (the reenactment). Thanks for the feedback; I think only one of those would be useful then (if both are similar in content). I will. go with your advice re Alan Frost. I have a few books on the Investigator and Mather Flinders, as I have great interest in the early cartographers/explorers. The best of these I think is a large format hardcover written by Geoffry Ingleton. cheers Pat
  6. coming on really well Dave, that is some pretty neat planking for a first layer. Interesting reference material also; I may need to have a look at one or two of those also. Which would you recommend as the better (all round) of the two 'First Fleet' books? cheers Pat
  7. That 'acorn' is probably a ring bolt for the chain stays; certainly that is what they are in the 'Victoria' - the davits look very, very similar. I have been trying to adapt some soft metal ones with no luck. Are these resin prints? cheers Pat
  8. Wow Glen, another finely presented SIB. Great final photos BTW mate. Looking forward to your next build. cheers Pat
  9. An interesting range of historical content there Richard, particular WRT your build. cheers Pat
  10. Wow that is some production line you have going Richard. A very consistent and high quality output; those jigs certainly worked out. cheers Pat
  11. Great to see the planking going on Dave, she will be afloat before you know it. Hopefully you may see some progress in my shipyard soon. cheers Pat
  12. An interesting question Richard; I too would be interested in knowing. Perhaps a question to jewelry supplier? cheers Pat
  13. Great progress Rob, she is coming along very nicely cheers Pat
  14. The second one (rock) for me also Glen. You can always say the rock is from Japan Seriously, I think the rock is more in keeping with a nautical theme. cheers Pat
  15. Wow Rob, you really motoring (or should I say rollicking) along. Looking great. cheers Pat
  16. Sorry to hear of the kidney stones - been there and know how much they can knock you about. Nice progress on the model. Cheers Pat
  17. Now that is one unusual and interesting display base Glen. Kudos mate, it looks great. I am sure those pesky penguins would also agree (that is if you have managed to keep them away from the Bundy supply ;)) cheers Pat
  18. Looks great Rob! Some great collaboration on this build being seen here again. cheers Pat
  19. Can't avoid life getting in the way Keith, hope the temporary 'gigs' have been acceptable? Looking forward to seeing you back at the bench soon. cheers Pat
  20. Couldn't agree more than with Mark, she looks like a newly built model BUT retains all of her character. Nice work John. cheers Pat
