  1. Ever have one of those days you wish you could start over. Well my progress  report was going to be I have finished  the hull. How ever, I  have made a major  error and had to take  it all apart.

    20260120_112658.thumb.jpg.2b70956530bfea5329f0215d57b1fa7e.jpg

Most of it came apart  with water, wood glue soften  in water but ca hold on, isopropyl works on that.

Thankfully  Rodney has another wasa with all the wood pieces,  it is an older kit as you have to cut the pieces out it is not lazor cut.  I just need the decks, the bulk heads can be used again. A new keel was cut.The good thing is I have the parts I need. It just a matter of starting  over. Lol new start date for the Wasa, Jan 20, 2026 lol.

Going to get some coffee and start over. I know what I did wrong, so I will avoid that mistake  again.

    20260120_102600.thumb.jpg.4cfe590af0a7c239638f21d0759275b8.jpg

The decks   and three pieces on the stren need replacing, should be good to go after that. Not starting out as my dream ship lol, I get back on course, eventually 😅 🙃

Ahhh at least the coffee  is good lol. See you all in a bit.

  2.  @Keith Black That appointment went really well.it is  the one on the 30th of this month thats will tell all, going to film the inside of me, and  we will take it from there  . It is a pain in the butt, but hopefully it will go as smooth as poo. Lol

  Thanks for checking my friend.

  3.  Moving forward,  I have to do some rearranging  of the ship yard is needed.  This is one big ship. 20260114_150506.thumb.jpg.fd78b1ea9bfbeae19caab3d49802f48a.jpg

I added a table to the left for the plans to lay flat. I have two sets of plans for this ship, the older one that Rodney past on  to me has a great rigging plan, the newer plan is better  for building.20260112_195537.thumb.jpg.dcdc1e9b0ca1942e96cb1a14e3da22a4.jpg

I wish to thank my friend  Kurt who sent me this ship. Along with it English translation plans. All printed,  just follow the plan.  I am so greatful for your help  Kurt.20260112_194500.thumb.jpg.61b46f445760ae6e8a034ea04183c978.jpg

A test run of the bulkheads,  good to go.

The flags and a picture of the wasa with a painted bottom,  research  is needed. I am going with the blue cloud for this Wasa , and will use red on the next one.

Keel is glued up, number eight bulkhead lined and glued, more later, glue got to set, and I have to separate all the deadeyes,  blocks,  pins, perrales etc 😀 four different size  cannons,  all kind of Block sizes. Pins mixed with belaying pins

    20260114_150228.thumb.jpg.a5a77e521a7d67a20d42318ffa4b093d.jpg

I found out it has 64 cannons, all with lids I think 🤔 😅

Glad to be back to the build. Thanks for those who follow along, I build for fun, this kit will be no different  lol Amazing amount of fun,

Ok we are off , shame to build this just to see it fall over. Thats unreal.

learning lots about the Wasa, she was a magnificent ship, so much details. Love it.

However, I'll probably only do so according to some plans or, if from a manufacturer, then from Corel.
Because if you want it to be truly original, it can't be symmetrical, and I'm very good at crooked.

I think you will be pleased with crooked  on this build but that's what is all about. Glad your along for the trip.20260112_161209.thumb.jpg.29d274aabf96cd657c67733e984a201b.jpg

This is going to be amazing.  This is just about the size of her. I just see ratlines to the tip of the mainmast. :D

@Keith Black I am resting my freind, just researching  the wasa.  Logs, marking all the Billings  logs ,  Gobsmacked by the beauty of the finished ones. I need a bigger shipyard. One with a bed. Lol. A hammock that's it. Become the Swiss sailor.

This will take awhile, at least no more title correction for the Moderators,  I say 8 years, my apologies,  I am laughing because I thought I nailed it this time lol.. That will give me time to figure out where I am going to put this one.

It will be a long trip, going for appointments tomorrow and will be late getting back.  All is well my freinds looking forward to starting. :D

  5.   Hello, my name is Bob M and I go by Knocklouder here on MSW.  This is my adventure in the world of modeling for this kit.

Today January 10, 2026 I am starting  a new log , it is for the Swedish war ship Wasa.  I am not feeling well so was told to take it easy and rest, do research,  study the build. I am in agreement.

Before I get into this build here are two Wasa's one is the Billings Boat 490 Lazer cut  that a fellow modeler  gave me a great deal on. Which  is great because I was down to My last kit and have seem to have run into a bit of a financial problem ,  but that's life, one door shut another opens.

My late friend Rodney  left me this wasa on the bottom  , this one you have to cut everything out  on a saw it is not lazer cut.

it is missing all the stern with  parts. With this kit I will make a cross section,  my luck  another member is doing the same but for his entire ship, I asked for just the middle.  He did all the figures on a cad program. Print them out and paste them on the bulk heads.  Then cut out with a scroll saw,  and make the cross section.

    20260110_162856.thumb.jpg.3628ef3943c6b763b337660060706911.jpg

This are the copy I made on my printer. When the time come these will be very useful.

    20260110_144005.thumb.jpg.c5fccace71884f9c442525d527784cd4.jpg

This is Kurt Builder ⚒️ he came ahead of me to do the research. I told him good, we got lots of time .lol . He says we can start building  right away.  Wasa buildt 1628, sailed out of the harbor and cap sized .  It is in a museum  now so they are peiceing to gether what it looks like.

    20260110_151758.thumb.jpg.49be65433ce055667d82f420329c8dd2.jpg

This is falling together fast, I just happened  to have this Billing Boat building slip, and can tell it will be a great asset to have.

I have not glued anything yet,  Still just kinda puttering around sorting things,  putting things away for later.

I plan to go all out for this kit, full sails, made from Modelspan. Lol love shipping,  four sheets 5 buck, 15 for shipping.

    But it it beautiful paper

    Worth every penny.

Which  is about all I have lol. On the bright side I  have years of Wasa ahead.

Now after some days off I will continue with my build. If you want follow  along

The more I look and learn about this ship the more I like it. It is a good size ship and one I want to deck out fully, because I may not have time to deck out to many more 😅

Well hope I got the title right 😁.

    Here we go.

  6. That is some very great advice,  Kieth , I am taking  some major steps back.  The Frist Mate is in agreement,  so  I will dig into the research of the wasa, mull over my opinions and head out on what every  adventure awaits.  I usually start another log 10 minutes after the last one , this time I am taking a longer break.

    20260110_151758.thumb.jpg.33bf2b5b781d7e20f60c5652bb250d4c.jpg

This will be a great model to do, can't wait to start, lol. Nothing is glued, so it doesn't count as a start.  :D

    Later my friend's.

  7. I am going to change my signature to USRC HARRIET LANE, on hold. I tryed to day but it  is not happing  . Not to be defeated but just a change in course. I will make the change when I start the Wasa log what's left on the Harriet Lane  is the boom and gaff perrales , rudder, and flag.

  8. Just when you think you got it mastered,  sickness and life have taken it toll. The running rigging is completed,  just have to add a few rope coils.

Captain Steve is glad we are at least underway. He got wind of two bootleggers up river and wants to go catch them.:)

My favorite helper got this camera for Christmas,  this is the first time she plays with it, want to take a picture of the Harriet Lane. It prints out a little black and white picture,  pretty cool.

Hopefully I will get better soon,  omissions have been made because  of my shakey  left hand. Lol. It doesn't shake as much at 1:75 scale  I find, so as soon as this little  Cutter is done its 1:75 scale for at least 10 years. More on that when I open a new logs

Take care my friends,  build on, there is just so much information here on MSW,  freindly people  willing to help great site glad  to be part of . You can follow  along in the logs and biuld  anything you desire.

Have to rest a bit Sea all soon.

  9. @Alexsey Kornev thank you very much..

I am slightly  embarrassed by your comments,  I am very glad you find answers in my build.  I will be following along with yours.

I open my Pegasus and thought,  o boy you have done it now. Lol

If it was not  for MSW and the logs, I would have been  lost.  @Blue Ensign and @Moonbug logs is were I  copied everything you see. To this day I go see thier  logs just to look at the rigging.  Those two logs will go into history  as the best.  I just tryed to do what they did ,In some form or another 🤔  lol.

I had a great time with this build, thier logs help me, mine helped you, and yours will help someone  you'll see.

    Thanks again.

    Bob  M

PS.  some were it was supposed to say This is what MSW is all about.

    :D

  10. Keith you Nailed it my friend,  I was going to going to put a  like on @clearway last post , but being a Neanderthal I like shinny things,  to me it looks like braided cable in the sun 🌞.  Don't know if they had braided back in Billy's day or not. But yes that looks good and shinny

    Knocklouder 😁

  11. I did manage to get a few stays on today, then the sickness come back and yhe left hand started to shake just a bit to much 🙃 😅.  Break time. @vvvjames thank for your well wish, @tmj you know how modelers tend to  great exaggerated  the size of thier ship lol my next build will be a Wasa and it is only 38 inch lol. Still bigger then the Harriet Lane. 20260106_145222.thumb.jpg.360ee288b6b161e284017c0a7d7bd00e.jpg

A few stays then the boom and gaff
