Can you all see the difference in the yellow, from the portside to the starboard side 😁. Lol. One of the rules in painting, mix enough to do the job lol hard to rember which yellow I used. 😉 so going with the starboard side, I had to do a little thouch up and by the time I was done ,it was all done. Painting will be eazlie done this time, no chain plates in the way. Things are proceeding smoothly, this is because of the logs and help from others who have build her before My attempt 😀 I know it a long way off, the sails, I have a supplement pdf file that I bought from Sea Watch books that I am going to study, I have eight ships that I have finished just using the kit supplied sail materials. For my two Bluenoses we are using thiner materials than what was suggested. Since the Pegasus will be in a case right beside my big old retirement chair, I am really thinking of doing the sails in silk span. What a dreamer lol. Hard to belive all the joy this hobby brings. Talk soon my friend's Knocklouder 😁 Kurt ⚒️

AaHhh, listen,.... the grandkids have gone home, last night. We sleeped in today lol. This morning after coffee , much coffee I ran down to the ship yard, eger to get back to the Pegasus.. Up frist I am putting the chainplate assembly together. A trip to @Moonbug log for his Pegasus for information and inspiration the frist thing crank the tunes. In which I was told to turn it down just a bit lol I crabed my thrid hand and got things set up, and "looky " here the missing piece of the chain plate front that I broke doing the Duchess of Kingston, it got stuck to the side and I never notice it, and I use this lots lol. Kurt says we have lots to do. 30-5mm and 26 -3 mm, deadeyes to make up. Then clean all the holes up and put them away. This will take awhile I am sure, 168 pieces to add after that, then figure were they go, what angle that sort of thing, I have lots of great logs to look at here on MSW, priceless information I know my Pegasus will be Knocklouder attempt at building the Pegasus, and she will have mistakes, but we are having the time of my life. Ok, so I turned down the tunes, change to Gordon Lightfoot She like him better then than the Moody Blues. Many hours of fidleing with tiny things is apon us. Add to that , every deadeye has a partner, so I going to clean all those up as well. It sure is nice to have leg room back after putting the Astrolabe in the corner for a bit. The oldest grandson said he will make a display case for the Astrolabe this year in school, for his woodworking project. So I will jump back to the barge and finish the rigging , just a couple of weeks work there and I should have it tied up lol 😆 Thanks for peeking in , oh oh still too loud lol 😆 Knocklouder 😁 Kurt ⚒️

For myself planking is the hardest to learn, I have study Chuck's video on planking for planking a lot, four years now you would think I would get the hang of it by now lol I use a steel 6 inch ruler the taper my planks, never tapper more than half the width of the plank,I don't try to cut the plank right though on the first pass of the scalpel , several pass then apply presser. I beval the top edge a bit so it fit nice, I use a plank bender, a bit of heat and water. Once all the sanding and filling is done I coat the hull with thin down PVA about 30 to 40 %, let that dry overnight and away you go. this may not be the right way but it works for me, Knocklouder

The grandsons have gone back home,we were going to go fishing , but ,smoke days, rain days and lack of fishing rods, we were forced to paint penguins. we managed to get one of the 14 little guys painted. We just have to do the beck and the eyes. Then repeat 13 times , lol. @Keith Black I managed to tie the stays on, I am going to make a jig that allows me to tie them on later. This is how I will attach them now, 🤔 The grand son says he wants to paint the black on the Penguins and I can only work on these when he is here lol. I showed him my Pegasus, that I am just so excited to be back building . It's my current dream ship and it is all I think about. 🤔 More news on the Astrolabe soon , his mom says he wants to sleep over real soon. Thanks for looking in, this build is turning into priceless memories, thanks you all for this 😊. Bob M.

I went back over this log to refresh my memory lol, I rember now why I stop the build.. Rember, those little creatures, weekly up dates on the food I feed them continues to this day lol. So far no rats have been seen in the shipyard, thank God. I restaind the deck yesterday, then gave it two brush coats of shelac. The next thing is I got to un pack all the trinkets, I am looking at the box for inspiration on how I want mine to look. I had this picture that Rodney had of the Pegasus, but moved it and put the box on the table. I will try to make it look like this picture, and @archjofo , guess what I noticed first the studding sail boom irons lol , I will add them to this build for sure thanks again for the tip. I don't remember making this ships boat lol , I have to go back in my log to see when I did it. Many things to decide now, colors, rigging, the masts. I will be up until the wee hours of the morning , just trying to organize things lol. Things will be put on hold for four days, I have to help the First Mate look after the two grandchildren parent's are vacationing. Then I will start putting the chainplate assembly together. I think I have done ok so far, some mistakes, but it is ok. Now if I can remember everything I have learned here on MSW I should pull off a keeper. Thanks for the help everyone. Bob M.

Well now it has been awhile. I am putting this Pegasus back on the bench as of today. I have to get everything back in order for building the masts , the point that I stop. It will take me some time to get the ship yard running smoothly again but I just want to finish the Pegasus. It was a gift from Emilio Marletti of Amati Models, I want to finish it for him. May the fun never stop. Thanks my friends, you have given more than I can pay back. So with that news, going to set up shop see you in a while. Knocklouder 😁 Kurt ⚒️

Part of my problem is I have two sets of plans, Mantua and a set from the Paris Museum. To me it looked like Rodney was following the Paris plans. They show wooden blocks for sail booms, the Mantua shows iron studding sail booms. It looks likes I could make them and include them but it is a detail I will over look. I got in contact with my good friend about Sail boom irons This is what I found And right here on MSW: (looks like wood to me!) This log talks about wooden sail booms. This picture show studding sail boom irons. So I am at the three yard line, and the all the yard lines that run aft will be added. So close to the finish line lol Got some outside commitments to attend to for the next couple of days so progress will slow, but you can bet I be back rigging as soon as I can. Thanks for stopping bye. And thank you @archjofo, for help me learn about ships , I appreciate it emencily. Knocklouder Kurt ⚒️
