I think you will be pleased with crooked on this build but that's what is all about. Glad your along for the trip. This is going to be amazing. This is just about the size of her. I just see ratlines to the tip of the mainmast. @Keith Black I am resting my freind, just researching the wasa. Logs, marking all the Billings logs , Gobsmacked by the beauty of the finished ones. I need a bigger shipyard. One with a bed. Lol. A hammock that's it. Become the Swiss sailor. This will take awhile, at least no more title correction for the Moderators, I say 8 years, my apologies, I am laughing because I thought I nailed it this time lol.. That will give me time to figure out where I am going to put this one. It will be a long trip, going for appointments tomorrow and will be late getting back. All is well my freinds looking forward to starting. Bob M. ➕️ Crew.

Hello, my name is Bob M and I go by Knocklouder here on MSW. This is my adventure in the world of modeling for this kit. Today January 10, 2026 I am starting a new log , it is for the Swedish war ship Wasa. I am not feeling well so was told to take it easy and rest, do research, study the build. I am in agreement. Before I get into this build here are two Wasa's one is the Billings Boat 490 Lazer cut that a fellow modeler gave me a great deal on. Which is great because I was down to My last kit and have seem to have run into a bit of a financial problem , but that's life, one door shut another opens. My late friend Rodney left me this wasa on the bottom , this one you have to cut everything out on a saw it is not lazer cut. it is missing all the stern with parts. With this kit I will make a cross section, my luck another member is doing the same but for his entire ship, I asked for just the middle. He did all the figures on a cad program. Print them out and paste them on the bulk heads. Then cut out with a scroll saw, and make the cross section. This are the copy I made on my printer. When the time come these will be very useful. This is Kurt Builder ⚒️ he came ahead of me to do the research. I told him good, we got lots of time .lol . He says we can start building right away. Wasa buildt 1628, sailed out of the harbor and cap sized . It is in a museum now so they are peiceing to gether what it looks like. This is falling together fast, I just happened to have this Billing Boat building slip, and can tell it will be a great asset to have. I have not glued anything yet, Still just kinda puttering around sorting things, putting things away for later. I plan to go all out for this kit, full sails, made from Modelspan. Lol love shipping, four sheets 5 buck, 15 for shipping. But it it beautiful paper Worth every penny. Which is about all I have lol. On the bright side I have years of Wasa ahead. Now after some days off I will continue with my build. If you want follow along The more I look and learn about this ship the more I like it. It is a good size ship and one I want to deck out fully, because I may not have time to deck out to many more 😅 Well hope I got the title right 😁. Here we go. Knocklouder Kurt ⚒️ Bob M.😁

That is some very great advice, Kieth , I am taking some major steps back. The Frist Mate is in agreement, so I will dig into the research of the wasa, mull over my opinions and head out on what every adventure awaits. I usually start another log 10 minutes after the last one , this time I am taking a longer break. This will be a great model to do, can't wait to start, lol. Nothing is glued, so it doesn't count as a start. Bob M. Later my friend's.

I am going to change my signature to USRC HARRIET LANE, on hold. I tryed to day but it is not happing . Not to be defeated but just a change in course. I will make the change when I start the Wasa log what's left on the Harriet Lane is the boom and gaff perrales , rudder, and flag. A couple of chains on the bow, rig the boom and gaff and the rudder and flag and she be finished. For many reasons she in the case, I will finish it for sure. I just want to get better, and starting a new log makes me feel better also. Thank you so much again Steve, it is just so much fun. I am so glad I could build it. So she in the case and safe for now. so give me 20 miniutes to start a new logs , and if MSW /NRG is ok with it I'll tell you about my adventures with Wasa Thanks for following along with my adventures, this is a great place to be, thanks everyone 😀. Just when you think you got it mastered, sickness and life have taken it toll. The running rigging is completed, just have to add a few rope coils. Captain Steve is glad we are at least underway. He got wind of two bootleggers up river and wants to go catch them. My favorite helper got this camera for Christmas, this is the first time she plays with it, want to take a picture of the Harriet Lane. It prints out a little black and white picture, pretty cool. With the rigging finished, I will finish all the bowsprit lines, bobstays, anchors next. oh and the figurehead. After that I will ⁰ spin her about and Boom, done lol. Hopefully I will get better soon, omissions have been made because of my shakey left hand. Lol. It doesn't shake as much at 1:75 scale I find, so as soon as this little Cutter is done its 1:75 scale for at least 10 years. More on that when I open a new logs Take care my friends, build on, there is just so much information here on MSW, freindly people willing to help great site glad to be part of . You can follow along in the logs and biuld anything you desire. Have to rest a bit Sea all soon. Knocklouder 😁 Kenny ⚒️

@Alexsey Kornev thank you very much.. I am slightly embarrassed by your comments, I am very glad you find answers in my build. I will be following along with yours. I open my Pegasus and thought, o boy you have done it now. Lol If it was not for MSW and the logs, I would have been lost. @Blue Ensign and @Moonbug logs is were I copied everything you see. To this day I go see thier logs just to look at the rigging. Those two logs will go into history as the best. I just tryed to do what they did ,In some form or another 🤔 lol. I had a great time with this build, thier logs help me, mine helped you, and yours will help someone you'll see. Thanks again. Bob M PS. some were it was supposed to say This is what MSW is all about.

I did manage to get a few stays on today, then the sickness come back and yhe left hand started to shake just a bit to much 🙃 😅. Break time. @vvvjames thank for your well wish, @tmj you know how modelers tend to great exaggerated the size of thier ship lol my next build will be a Wasa and it is only 38 inch lol. Still bigger then the Harriet Lane. A few stays then the boom and gaff I am stopping for the day shaking bit lol. Maybe I will go un box the Wasa, start a new log for it, we will see Tomorrow I will run the running rigging , there is not much really, 12 blocks and 10 lines thread @.25 mm. Hopefully I feel better tomorrow. Thanks my friends, be done by the end of the week lol. Knocklouder 😁

Well I know that this will be my last 1:144 scale model that I will do. This and anything smaller is very difficult to do. I am not happy with my work at this scale, My next build is almost four feet long, 7 mm deadeye that the 3/32 can almost pass through the holes lol. The jackstays and foot ropes went as smooth as a Neanderthal can make then. The eagle perched is the figurehead, no divination on the face , but its a bird. The upper ratlines on this scale had me making changes real guick. No need to show you but they were causing more damage then what they were worth. A decision on ratlines was made. I was going to use the CA method. I mark the shrouds with a white marker and ca then on. Not happy I gave up try ratlines at this scale, just shook to much. They look ok at normal veiwing distance, and will look great behind the Pegasus. A little bit of running rigging, a boom and a gaff the ever so delicate Bowsprit mast I will be done soon. I get anxious about finishing and starting a new log. The kid in me wants to go, but the old guy rules, and moves at a much slower pace. Lol. Seems I came down with another round of phonia, I got bad lungs and get this infection more than I should. Modeling helps, really.. Trying to tie it all up soon, most things are made just have to rig it..Like a true modler never again will I build at this scale lol. Best of luck everyone despite the bad cold thus year is starting off great, added 7 to ten years of models ships to build to my stach. That should give me enough time to get my coins together and buy another one. Happy New Year. Bob M.

Paul you can't go wrong with buying a Vanguard Model , they are simply the best. I know what is like to get hooked, half way through my first build, I bought 6 more that I liked. Lol. When your Sherbourne arrives start a log here ,I would like to see your ships. Bob M.
