    Bob Why do you think I was angry? About color of waterway, i concluded next CS is open structure to the sky conditions, and made of metal parts. Waterway is metal part, and maintenance of it is regular periodical work on every metal made ship and in ship with metal parts (rust remove and paint with protective paint). As you look and analyze pictures carefully, you can see that on pictures on which color is red, there is always a rust. In pictures where color is grey, there is no rust, everything is clean and clear. Also you can notice that decking is on pictures in different color: On some pictures, there is natural color of wood, in some pictures, decking is painted semi-grey or similar. Painting the decking is also regular maintenance job ( I was in navy, my brother was in navy, every year there are de-rusting and painting jobs) That means that pictures with red coating where older, and pictures with grey are younger. It is possible that after next periodical de-rusting and painting, color could be blue or green … Therefore, in my opinion, color of waterways on model color comes down to an aesthetic issue, and a feeling of each modeler himself PS What is „bare sheet“? (my English ...)

    Ohh, I suppose drilling was funny. Mounting dead-eyes will be also fun ... From you, I learn to drill that holes BEFORE re-planking my deck I missed something: What material you used for water-ways? Photos are not clear enough. You just coloured them, or ...? Cheers

    Problem is no silly, we all had/have it. But, my way ... I am silly to myself. I dont have seen anybody in MSW to have a fun going on this way (reverse order, obstinately, confidently, head against a wall ... ). It must be fun for reading ... look at this fool ( sometimes I feel this way) And sometimes remember why my son annoying me ( ak does not fall far from the tree). Same me...

    Comedy continues ... Deep breath, and let`s go ... In the sweat of my face, blood-soaked (fold my finger on surgical scalpel ...), thoroughly clean the main deck. ELP and The Yes in backround ... "Dremel" works in full force ... dust everywhere ... And repairing begin. First to pimp lost lines and fill holes. For now, It seems that after reconstruction it all will be OK. I Imagine de-leveled water-ways and "steel" support holders and how to make them from a staple ... I intend to re-plank deck, and there is opportunity, before planking to open some holes in, and to put some extra weight in But Of course, next question arise: Bearing in mind that I also must reconstruct white panels on bulwark, so, for that matter, reconstruction and little arising of rear deck - yes or no ( sometimes shyly look over SERGAL plans - the initial part of the first rib on ... I hit myself a slap, and violent change my mind about starting over ...) Obviously I'm not, and will not be bored. Can I update my head for a bit less complicated? All in all, I can not wait to finish the day and go down to the shipyards to continue to torture myself

    Thank you friends for your support The initial despair is over, I am filled with optimism and already thinking about the further technical details ( how to bring out the steel braces bracket bolts and how to bring out the brackets of dead-eyes.     Evening come, Admiral went to Vaya Con Dios concert with friend, children go out, and I am finally alone, in creative peace Make some ness coffie, take my music with me ( for tonight I chose Jethro Tull, The Yes and ELP) and start working on main rail Everything went so fine, nice adn easy first on stern deck then on bow deck and it looks very nice, and I was satisfied And then DISASTER PAY BACK TIME !!!!! (me) Mistakes for earlier period comes in their full brightness and size and jump directly to my head and heart Dead-eye and nail holders are tooooooo wide and messy , and there is no way to go on with main rail until I fix it. And it means .... For Bob : It is obviously bad idea to put dead-eyes in earlier stage. They all must go now . (why there is no crying smiley ?) Bad: a lot of working hours on dead-eyes went somewhere to the sky Good: There is opportunity to fix them : During building, I realize that my dead-eyes must be smaller than this I made And here is my splodge There is no doubt - a difficult surgical operation is necessary So, whole main deck must be wiped out, to the zero, I take a deep breath, and again take a deeper breath, and start cleaning mess Weeping and crying, start to remove everything, After a while, think ..... The devil is not black as he seems. This situation will allow me to do ( or - to try to do) some things to be closser to Campbell plans For example To make waterway To paint white inside bulwark To make dead-eye and nail holder in scale To mount wires instead stupid wooden parts To remake dead-eye equal and smaller and to fix them to bulwark in proper way with wire To re-plank deck etc etc You, my friends, must be a bloody fun looking my upside-down building Yes, I also have a fun

    Thanks Garym A couple of months ago I have been looking for this book on Internet, no success. In Serbia we can not pay on regular way to Amazon etc, so only chance is to find it in some hidden corner of Internet as *.pdf, and to download.

    As usual, new dilema Top-galant rail (or bulwark rail, I dont know exactly name, in different places I found different names) Look at this pictures from Campbell and from CS in dry dock As you can see, rail is pretty narrow and very elegant, and measuring to my model, it should be about 3 mm wide on my model But On some models it can be seen on Internet, rail is wider, it should be about 5 mm wide on my model Also at Sergal instructions And Billing boats And AL As you can see, rail is wider, but it seems to give more power-full look to model and whole deck. On the other side, narrow rail is harder to make and mount, and wider rail is quite easier to make and mount, especially in view of latter works on rail. Also better masks eventually mistakes under (a little bit wider nail and dead-eye holder I made trying to catch earlier lost lines of hull) What is your opinion in this istuation? 3mm or 5mm? Maybe compromise - 4mm ?

    Thank you, Edwin, I am doing my best (?) Mainly, when I saw that my method with first layer of planking yields results beyond all expectations, now bothers me the way (in my old plans) I did inside bulwarks - nail holders and dead eye holders. I have much to think about it until go up the work on deck The whole situation is almost helter-skelter ... and upside-down. But, that is the fun with scratch building and I really enjoy in process of resolving problems

    Yesterday I got some nut-wood panel 1mm wide, and in my mind start to preparing for making top rails. Also got some batten 1x1 mm for fenders ... Today I went to trip with Admiral to Zlatibor Mountain 240 km from Belgrade ( had very short Court appearance in little town nearby), take a little rest and walking in that famous Serbian tourist Center, and drive back home 3,5 hours. What a nature ........ same as on the best NG photos. Sunshine difficulty breaking through little fog in deep forest all around ..... I think about to stop and shoot, but it was dangerous (serpentines and holes on road). Something like this .... really wonderful PS: "Young bull" was fooled by seller and bought old battery for his bike as new one ... real entertainment for the people around him .... ( I was driving very carefully, and then come his phone call: "Hey, dad, my bike is dead on parking. Can you help me somehow ? ... Where are you ? .....On Zlatibor ? Where is this ? ......240 km from Belgrade !!!! What are you doing there ...When you will get home? And what am I to do ?.....") Will I ever be calm and boring .... Shipbuilding is good medicament and drug, also a meditation for brain ... work therapy in madhouse of life...

    Bob, His majesty - Adrian The Great, 5 years old Persian cat, is "de facto" lord of my house, and there is no room from 6 little cats. He has better pedigree than me+Admiral+kids together ... Try to imagine him with them ... horror ... Believe me, it is pretty pointless when only He ( and imagine + 6) visit my workshop and leave there his loooooong hair (you see this invisible color of hair) on my workbench ... In some pictures I posted you can see this. And imagine final putty with very light moves when discover hear in the light and precise layer of putty you just apply... Photo No 9 from my post #17 Kittens are shooted in warehouse where I had bye cement to finish Admirals fountain, and they have owner who feed them and take care Bike ... eh ..... I know that one day all kids must sit on some steering wheel ... I had survived kids first solo night go outs, and probably I ll survive his bike ... In Belgrade police do not work in traffic what they have to do, and number of idiots in cars grow every day ...

    Hey, don`t worry, MSW is always around us. There is a long walk in front us until rigging, which mean a lot of time to think, research, learn and prepare. In my opinion, that is nice part of this hobby

    Ah, my ingenious son got his first call to the Magistrate / parking his bike on the green area/. He do not have to pay attorney ( ...) but his penalty will pay, oh yes, no mercy. Why them everything have to learn in harder way ? I do not remember me when I was young .... ( or I pretend not to remember ... ) It is said: little children eat your milk, grown children eat your liver ... PS He forced me to start parallel building with some Admirallity model ... Because even the CS building is sometimes to much for me, I told him immediately: " build it yourself..." No answer

    Listening group THE YES, move forward, and poop deck bulwark is done and mounted. One peace made of three layer, and 2 working hours ( fastening of glue not included). No broke !!!! Fixed eliptical, no circular curve of stern. After taking this picture, I corrected bulwark a little while, to remove little "horn" at left "corner", and to fix ugly traces of sanding on the composition of fences and decks. I was too lazy to shoot again (because I have first to cut loose from the outside speaker phone, turn off the music program Mixzing, to activate the camera, set up the camera ... my old HTC Wildfire is overloaded and creepy slow ) As it can be seen, four crotchets ( Thenodidakta plan) are removed, two stay for now. I'm getting closer to the idea that, when (if ever) climb on deck ( I can not wait this ...), remove all of it and fix what is possible. Maybe even redo the planks. Devil in my head don`t sleep. If my intention and idea how second planking and coopering layer will look - perfect with covering all mistakes ( ) , that definitely will be the option. If I mess up ....

    Thanks, friend, I ll keep it on mind For now, I think I have enough and maybe a bit to much ( my plans, Sergal step by step instructions, Campbell, Revel instructions, Billing Boats instructions, and some books, and some instructions for other ships, Internet, Google adn Picassa pictures, not to forget youtube ... to research and explore, and .... MSW). If a day lasts 30-35 hours it will be enough

    Popeye I am also pleasantly surprised how She looks today. Proper lines and curvatures of hull !!!!! Yeah, I have done it !!! (almost). During planking, I was pretty skeptical, but now, especialy when I have Campbell plans, and find MSW I really got a wings to go forward
