@ Black Viking, Thanks for the birthday wishes I still have a lot of bamboo but I don't use it anymore. I'm lying.......I'm using it to start a fire at the fireplace !!!!!!!! Hennie give me his left over from his Aggy so I can close the hull now @ Dominic, Have you ever see the SotS without gun ports ???? Take a good look when it is now working with this one @ Hennie, Thanks for an wonderful afternoon !!! And I have to say, that dog of yours ( Sansa ) is the sweetest dog I ever see ! I give Anja that hug Mark. And now she is asking why I give her an hug Do I need something ????????? Pffffff Or should I tell her that it came from you Mark ? I have give all the credits for the netting to Anja and she say Thank you !!!!!!!! We went yesterday to Hennie and I have seen his Aggy in real life ! That model looks so amazing good. Wow, Thank you very much for the birthday wishes......... You know, I went to sleep as a young men and wake up as a oldtimer..... But again Thanks !!!!!!!!!! @ Bob, She will be on hold for a while so the Aggy will be finished before she is @ Hennie, We will see you tomorrow . Please with coffee and vlaai Then an update who is not totally an update but more a demolition. Yep, again !!!!! I was planking with the bamboo and that's was not fun to work with. There are so many bad parts in each of the planks that I need a pound of filler to get that straight ! So ,it was demolition time. I remove all of it and start all over again with planks that I had left from the first planking of the Aggy. I'm happy that I save that !!!!!!! The lower part of the hull are gonna be the planks from the Aggy and above that ( see the pictures ) I'll be using the bamboo planks. I cut all the bad parts away and use the good parts that there was left. And that works a lot better ! I know there must be a lot of sanding but that's no problem..... On sunday or monday I will sand the parts that is done. Then I can see what to do further. Tomorrow ( saturday ) we are going to Hennie to see what he is doing with his Aggy. Whe n I have another update I will report it. Before I forget, there is also a launch at the SotS. A few pictures of how it looks also. Sjors

A small update. Or should I say that it is an update from Anja ???? She makes them for me 4 of the 6 parts of the netting are finished. I only has to make some minor modifications. Just cutting a few loose ends..... But picture's of what Anja has done. When all is finished I will place them and go further with the rigging. And yes, I keep them white instead of black. I like this better Sjors

Thanks again. @ E.J. The second planking for the upper hull is much better. I have take a look again but there is no second planking under the waterline or have I missed something ???????? It's no big deal because it's gonna be painted. @ Martyn, It's not that bad to work with it. I just put a few planck's in the water for bending around the bow and it goes so smoothly ! If that was not working ,I still have planck's left from the Aggy. But so far so good. The only thing is that I have to pre-drill de holes for the nails otherwise the wood is splitting. A little more work but with a great result. Then the update. I have planked the stern. It looks like a porcupine When the glue is dry I will remove the nails and sanding the planks smooth and in shape. Then I can plank the hull totally ! Sjors

Here I'am again with a update I have to otherwise Sam is yelling at me I planked the second deck a little. No treenail because you really don't see that. I only made the caulkings with a black pencil. I show you a picture with and without the deck. The third deck is dry fit because it would take some time before it gets on the ship. First I have hull planking to do. That brings me to the wood that DeAgostini is providing with the issues. It's bamboo and I never worked with that. Some planks look like somenails went over it.... But I use that for the short pieces. I'm curious how it will work. Under the waterline should be painted white so no second planking. We will see how it works. Sjors

Very nice work Pat. When I see the second picture with the clamp and the buckets.... I thought I was looking at a fishing rod But when I take a look further I see an amazing good yard !!! I want to order 9 of those please Sjors

Thanks for the advice.....E.J.& Mark, It will be light planking on the lower deck. Just paint the support for the dummy cannons ,so no update today. @ Jack, Welcome also. And you are never to late. You know, when I'm driving the bus into the centre of Rotterdam and I'm late because of the traffic or something else,then I've got this saying from some passengers... Driver, you are to late ! My answer will be.....I'm never to late ,.only a little later....... So you see Jack, never to late, just a little later..... Sjors

Thank you It was the only way to put the deck down. And you know, we builders can use everything what's in the house..... (with or without permission from our Admirals ) I have take a look at the manual and there is coming a third deck. DeAgostini want me to paint the part of the deck ,what you see when you are looking from the third deck true the gratings, black. I don't like that even if you have to take a look true the gratings to see the second deck. So I think it is better to plank that part. But then a second question.... The planking of the third deck should be a light color wood. Shall I also take that for the part what you see or can I go with a darker planking ? This is only for the second deck , gratings are above it ! So, painting or planking...... Time to go to bed for me and work tomorrow so please tell me your thoughts about it !!!!!! Sjors

Hello Martyn, Hennie, Edwin and Peter, Welcome again...... There is enough popcorn for everyone ! @ Martyn, You are allowed to follow @ Hennie, Ok, Sergal. And yes, I also want to finish the Aggy first but the wood smell is going there own way. Now I can switch between those 2. @ Edwin, I'didn't know that the smell was that big ! Anja is saying Hi to you and Urmilla. Hope everything is allright there with you. @ nenad, Let the party begins !!!!!! @ Peter, Welcome ! Popcorn enough so take some. And the quality of Agostini kits are really good. But I have to wait till the end before I can say something about the whole kit ( or issues) After cleaning the popcorn I have done something again. The deck beams are on it and because you can push the beams down with almost no pressure, I have make under it another little beam. Then I have glued the second deck. Now I have to find out if this deck has getting planking or maybe there is a third one on top of it. If I have to plank this deck i will do it before I'm planking the hull. Otherwise first the hull and then another deck ? I'll keep you posted ! Sjors

@Jan, Take a seat somewhere.... Maybe on the balcony ????? @ Tom, Pictures are not that difficult. When you have written your post you see at the right side on the bottom ( next to post ) more reply options. On the left bottom you see Attach Files. Under it choose files. Go where the pictures are on your computer and dubbel click on them. They will be placed at the post. After you done it ,hit the Add reply buttonand voila......pictures @ Chris, We are at number 85 so a little further then you. But you can start now and open a build log....... Then an update. I make the stern with all the funny stuff. Also the wood for dummy cannons. Support beams ??????? You can see it for yourself in the pictures. Enjoy Sjors

First I have to welcome the visitors who arriving today...... @ Jan, Specially for you..... @ Chris, Welcome my neighbour from the South How many issues do you have at the moment ? @ Ulises, You are never to late my friend and I see a nice bottle of wine in your hand I save a seat for you just by that little table with the two glasses And already thanks for looking into the future......masterpiece pffffffffff @ Sam, We don't have a bath, only a shower and that is big enough for more then one duckie uh.....ship @ Mark from Phoenix, It's not standing, only sitting. This build can take a long time because I have to finish my Agamemnon and of course work! 90 % of the builders here are retired and I belong to the last 10 % ( joke old people ) @ Subvet ( do you have a real name ???????) And I just love challenges ! @ Piet, Be careful with Mark please ! It's a ...man !!!! And you now that the Dutch are people with a lot of ambitions Then something else. On a Dutch forum there is a builder named Pietsan and he has build the HMS Diana in such way that I'm drooling when I see the pictures. He also just started to build the SoS from De Agostini and I will follow him with what he is doing. He is explaining it on a very clear way, almost better then the manual. And of course he is building quicker then me because I have still the Aggy to finish. Sjors
