Thank you, friends up there. The ship is expected to be finished within a year (by July 2022) , and although the start-up was delayed by nearly a month due to rework, it should be ready within a year. I hope we can make progress together in the New Year! Merry Christmas to all once again!

    Hello,
it is done, the windows are ready and build in. The lacquer at the acrylic glas may dry a little more and then I hope they look a little more even.

Thanks Gaetan for your appreciation of my work, as regards the proxxon milling machines it is true as you say the 230 the mf 70 are much more precise, I use it for wood as if it were a small pantograph, however if registered well it becomes quite precise for small jobs.
Thank you very much Ray and Merry Christmas.

This morning, I wanted to test shooting from the top .
The next working area will be the second deck, to add a few details and close that deck.

Recently, Lightroom did a major step in his program. You can now  select any part of the photos and work only on a part  at the time modifying what you want. By example, if one part of the photo, from any size, is too dark, you can increase the light.

It is now possible to do steps that were only possible in photoshop before. By example, you can change a background color in one easy step. I wonder what kinds of mathematical formulas are involved to achieve this. The only drawback, to use it you need to pay annual fee. It is not worth if you only take few photos every year, but it is acceptable if you take a lot of photos. It is a great tool to retouch the photos and also to organize the classification.

As I am staining the leaves for the Library display I cannot afford to stir up any sawdust from my shop so I decided to go back to my computer and work on my made fore and mizzen masts.... but before I start that I modelled my 1/2 pound (1-1/2" bore) swivel gun for my fore and main tops (platform).  Originally I saw these as 16 inches long but that was from one reference, a Battlefield 18th century swivel gun manual printed in 2016.  Lewis and Clark had a 1-3/4" bore 22" long barrel swivel gun in 1804.  It's just that everyone I talk to suggests naval guns we scaled down in size so my 1/2 pdr would be 27 to 30 inches long following that train of thought.

At 1:64 scale that makes it just under a 1/2" long!
Now to see if they can be resin printed as my other cannons were done.

Although I am a new member and new to wooden ship building, I have wood working in my resume and can say that this is awesome.
I really like the detail that you have given to make this happen.  I have an HMS Victory that I am "rebuilding" and although daunting...i am learning.  I wish i knew the scale of my ship (I will post questions later) because, I have already ordered wrong size parts.

    I will follow this close.
    Thanks Sir and Merry Christmas.

You can figure the scale pretty easily.   Measure the maximum breadth midships or the length on the gun deck.  It will not be exact, but should be pretty close for figuring the scale.  Beam of the Victory is 52 feet 10 inches and the length on the gun deck (rabbet to rabbet) is 186 feet (2,232 inches) .   For a scale of 1:96 the length on the gundeck would be  23 1/4", for 1:64 it would be 34 7/8", for 1:48 it would be 46 1/2" etc.
