albert reacted to DORIS in HMS ROYAL KATHERINE 1664 by Doris - 1/55 - CARD
Hello dear friends, thank you all for your kind words and support. I do appreciate your comments a lot.
Well, after a very short break I continue again, but it was really struggle to create the statues/quarter pieces correctly. I had some problems with their realistic appearance and accurate position, but friends have adviced me, how to do it better. Special thanks belongs to my great advisor and top expert from Czech Modelforum - Kpt.KL, who provides me professional advice and plenty of patience as well.

Happy Victory Day!!! Peaceful sky over your head! I have in my hands a portrait of my wife's grandfather, he fought in the Second world war, but died at the hands of a gangster after the war...

albert reacted to Chuck in HMS Winchelsea - FINISHED - 1764 - by Chuck (1/4" scale)
Thanks...I still have to edit it. Its on the list of things to do.
Below is a dry fit of the bulkheads and stern frames. All looks good to go for the next step.
And just this one time only...I dragged out the old dusty and broken 3/16" scale version of the Winnie for a size comparison. They are lined up at the stern so you can see the difference. What a mess the old model is....full of dust and filthy as well as busted up a bit.

And here I have finally created the sculpture of the Queen Catherine. I used her portraits and other sources of suitable information to achieve this appearance.

The clothing is in an ancient style similar to the Vale's painting.

Hello Albert,
Thank you for your interest.
And here follows the continuation of the report:
Here you can see how the bolts for the double blocks are made step by step. At the top of the fork-like shape comes a hole with 0.3 mm for the joint axis.
For the attachment of the double blocks on the channels, I have the following
solution found. I think that this could be historically correct.
This design is similar to that of attaching eyebolts for breeching ropes on french sailing warships.
The method of producing this detail I have seen in a Russian model building forum.

Hello,
Here I show step by step how to make the detail for the bolts.
In the meantime, I have made as far as all fitting parts for the double blocks of the backstays.
