  1. Now, she begins to breathe. It's like watching the unfolding of a new orchid.
  2. Now this takes the cake. Here we have a new recruit who looked like he might fit right in. In less then 2 days you folks have completely corrupted him. Yeah, he fits in ------ with this group
  3. Welcome aboard Tex ! Glad to see a CW Morgan back on the site. I'll be following along as she's a personal favorite. Walked her decks many times back in Mystic. Take your time, post lots of photos and don't be afraid to ask questions. You'll find all the help you need on MSW. And most of all, enjoy your first wooden ship build.
  4. Promotions around here just indicate who generates the most hot air. But thanks anyway. Now get to work
  5. Go to Forums. Then go down to Kit Build logs in Progress. Open it and you will see the very first topic, in bold RED that will walk you through the whole process. You want to follow the naming conventions.
  6. Hahahahaha. You are already learning the tricks. Don't forget to have a 'wall side' for your model. That's the side you don't want anyone to see Buts here's a tip.....if you work that way your Base Commander will tell you the ship should be 'going the other way' and you'll be stuck! So take your time......do your best on every piece. Yes, you'll improve as you go.......but set the highest standard you can from step #1. Have a great voyage. I'll be following.
  7. Frank is right. I'm in the process of attaching blocks to the yards and every time I look at the plans there are MORE of them. I swear someone is sneaking into the shop at night and drawing them in. But it's a lot easier to do them now.
  8. Happy Birthday Bob. And congrats on completion of a first rate model. Your details really make her shine. Looking at her, for just a moment I saw myself at sea, chopping bait and stalking the elusive Atlantic Cod. What more could a model possibly accomplish? WELL DONE!!!!
  9. I hope you like building whaleboats. I see she has 7 ! Might be a good way to start the build!!!!!!
  10. I've only seen the gel in tubes Mobbsie. Catch you when you retire from the party circuit.
  11. Don't worry about 'detracting from my build'. Have you seen the sections on groundhogs and lumberjacks???? Seriously, the most important thing is to get you set up with a log so you have all your info in one place and establish a circle of followers.
  12. Looking darned good from over here. Respectfully, #1 Stooge
  13. Your ratlines look great Sarah. But the dyed sails look ------ spectacular! Silkspan and Earl Gray------you're OK young lady!!
  14. Here ya go. Help is on the way and you didn't even really ask for it. That's how this place works
  15. OK, you've got everything available. I'm going to bet that if you start that Morgan log it will attract attention. Then if you put out a request there for assistance or extra material someone will chime in!
  16. Good grief Tex...... I just checked and there is no active CW Morgan on the forum. I'm sure there were some on MSW 1.0. I know Robbyn (Shaz) has one on the shelf but it AL, not MS. Didn't the kit come with an instruction booklet? I checked on Model Shipways and here it is: http://www.modelexpo-online.com/images/docs/MS2140/MS2140-Charles_Morgan-Instructions.pdf
  17. Hope you're continuing to improve. I went through that operation-home-back in thing 2 years ago so I understand well what you went through. We'll be here when you're back up to being in the shop.
  18. No, there are 4 viscosities available in the US. Thin, medium, thick and gel. http://www.zapglue.com/cas/
  19. Thanks Robbyn. You'll enjoy this kit and Chuck's Practicum is a gem. I too enjoy the banter. It often takes me a week or more to have a bona fide update so reading about Andy's beard and Sjor's clowns is a welcome way to stay in touch. Unfortunately, I need to report that I haven't worn a pink shirt since the summer of '77.
