Hi Carl, the gallery is made with PIWIGO a standard application provided by my provider. I have free storage of 10GB, so this can be workable for years now. It is not doable to update all previous postings in MSW, as when opening for editing I cannot see the original filenames quickly. But this gallery is a good alternative.

I have uploaded the pictures on my on server http://www.veraart.net/fotoforum/index.php?/category/1 Files are not sorted, filenames unchanged, as this might be easier to update the various posts.

Due to change of policies from Photobucket all pictures are blocked (can be released by paying $ 400,00) I am going to setup an new photo sharing system on my own account as I am posting on various forums. within a few weeks I expect to post some new pictures and summary of the build.

we have been moved to our new house. in the coming weeks/months a lot of small jobs to do, like painting and wall papers. and most important to make a new workshop area for my shipmodelling all shipmodells survived the move, and the Vasa already has a new "temporary" location in our living
-
as of last week my build is now in full stop. we are moving to a new house by mid of February and are now busy to pack all item collected after 23 years living in this house. first job was to save all the modelbuilding items and tools and pack them correctly. I hope to have everything unpacked and ready for restart the build around the summer as we have also to do some modifications in our new house. Goal will be to have the Vasa ready to show as it is now during the Meeting of Historical Shipmodels in the Netherlands on May 7, see link below in my signature

During the last weeks continued with the long boat, changed the seatings and made a mast after the painting I will add some ropes and sails. Due to our planned move in February I will till that time, during the weekly meetings with our model club, do some preparations for the rigging.
-
that should have been perfect for me, my build takes now already over 4 years and will take much longer due to moving to our new house in the early spring next year.

the drawing I have is from a long boat as found near the wreck of the Vasa. you have to scale this to 1:75. if you send me your email in a private message I will forward you the drawings and some pictures from the original in the Vasa Museum.

Hi Chris, enjoy your free time with your daughter and the coming newbie. before you know you have time again for your ship modell maybe in your spare free time fix a work space in your new house out of range of children and then after a busy day you will start again I had the same experience with my children and new job.

For those who are not on the Vasa forum, the museum is now tendering the issuance of the book Vasa II as public (European/Swedish) tender. Fred Hocker expect publisher to start the final preparations for the book before the end of this year, so let us have a goal for the book on spring 2017

Hi Martyn, The Corel Kit has been developped in the early 70's just a few years after the recovery of the Vasa. there has not been any re-design from the kit. As far as I understood Billing Boats re-designed their kit but no kit is really perfect, although the newest kit from DAgostini seams to be the most accurate kits, but this is just on the market this year, so we have to wait for this final result.
-
Hi Michael, now I see you are working also on the 1:75 scale from Corel. I faced also the same problems with some models it is an "art" to install items with some items not installing, like these blocks and all details. I also saw some builders who used only a small ball to simulate the blocks as this in these scales 1:75 almost impossible to do that realistic
-
first I have to saw some pieces of wood for the frames and bended them then started to fit these frames next step will be the remaining frames in the bottom part, but that will be for the next time
-
This is something you see a lot in other kits Try to hold a piece of wood over frames 7-8 and 10-11 and then define how much has to be removed or added, this will be the simplest way. waiting for a correct one from DA will take a long time I expect.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
