first filled the space between the frames then added the paper with wall paper glue on the frames and started with the planking now patience required for each next part. To be continued

For this reason we should have a Time machine Checking paintwork from that period in the Netherlands I personally expect something in between. considering that the master of the build was from the Netherlands, but also the influence of the King of Sweden that this ship should be very impressive is to be considered. in that period cost of labour was not a point, no problem to paint such a ship every year.

looks good that lantern Did that glass of Belgium Bear helps you? I will get them also some of these tomorrow when I am in Belgium

I first am making an contramall from paper and then planking on the paper. I learned this technic from a Russian builder and used this also for a previous small boat. Later this week once the paper mall is fixed I will publish some pictures. for the paper I am using toiletpaper in combination with wall paper glue (called Papier Mache in the Netherlands)
-
started with the small boat next step will be fixing these frames after that start with planking and hopefully remove these temporary frames and replace them with "original" clamps. Due to private reasons the builds is still very slow although I have now a holiday break
-
did you use glue which is water-soluble. if so use a injection neadle and spray some water at the point with the failure. hopefully this part will then release and then you can carefully re-glue this again. good luck

One week to go before the holidays. I have re-scaled the frames for the small boat and glued this on some wood. I am trying to use this as a guidance for the planking. maybe also some rigging?

I have just read your build and I am sure this kit will be on my wish list. I watched some time ago already this kit in my Modelshop, but at that time I did not buy this, but reading your build triggered this again. thanks for giving me the last hint to start with this kit also

Are you sure you are building the same scale model from Corel or is this in 1:35 instead of the original 1:75. I see details on your model I cannot dream of, so perfect looking to the same on my Corel in 1:75.

Thanks, I found a local supplier for this special Silk paper. (10 sheets for 11,00 euro) did you use the graphic as posted or a special picture (I am not so familiar with vectorized pictures) Thanks also for the Lantern, I will check with a local supplier what he can supply.

I am curious about the result of the flags, even the failures, as my idea is to make those also myself about the lantern do you have more information, like brand and type.

I have seen various kits from this company HMSVicory and Souverin of the Seas and thesr are very good kits. Only problem is that it takes approx 2 years before all items are received
-
check the various logs here for both Billing boats and Corel models and see how these are modified. through information from the Vasa Museum we have been informed about this new kit: http://www.editionsatlas.se/collection/VBU/Majestatiska-vasa.html not sure when available in each country, but this will be a subscription modell with every month some new packages. for the design of this modell there has been direct input from the museum, so this is expected to be a more correct version. http://warshipvasa.freeforums.net/thread/146/new-vasa-kit

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
