I just noticed your log. welcome to the group Vasa builders. I am building the Corel kit both are indead the same scale although the Billing Boats kit apears to be more accurate and based on newer information.
-
Continued with the preparations of the mast parts, all fits in dryfit now next step will be the additional blocks beneath the platforms
-
I fix those knots with a solution of 75% white wood glue and 25 % water. I tried first 50%/50% but then the fixation was not so good I made first 2 double knots with a very thin line above the block and then fix this with a pensel.
-
started with the canon rigging I have no to figure out n correct methode to complete all other canons
-
Did you consider to use a mixture of the white wood glue with water (50/50%) and then fix each knot with a small drop of this mixture using a small old brush consider that CA might break after several years and this is a very hard glue connection which can also break after touching once you are finished. this is my experience as well from several experienced builders in the Netherlands, we try to not use CA on shipmodels except when all other glues cannot be used I am using CA only to make a needle from the beginning of a rope so this makes it a lot easier to have the rope in small openings from blocks etc.

Started with the strops for the blocks This is the 1st batch of the double 3mm blocks for the canons

Hello, I noticed your log today for the first time good to see that another Corel Vasa builder started. first impression of the pictures is very good.
-
I am following the drawings of Corel to prepare the masts. My builds are now in a slow speed due to work and private issues. I hope that the book Vasa II will be issued this year so I can correct some high visibel parys in the rigging
-
Thanks for these pictures, I will save this information when I decide to mae the sails also.

This looks very good Matti. We are making a new standard all together with our Red Vasa's Your Vasa does almost get the same level as the models in the museum. Once Fred has seen this model........ I assume you are also waiting for the Vasa II book in order to start with the other rigging. For the completion of this part it is not a requirement. Let's hope it will be ready after you finished your 3000 knots

Nice to see your second Vasa here Mark. As all good things you should do them twice to learn with the figures you are correct, you should handle these very carefull, special the figures you have to remove from their supports. you have noticed in the other builds of the Corel kit of course already several mistakes. maybe we can together inform Corel how to modify this kit for the future so that all new generation Vasa builders can finally select more kit manufactures with correct kits. how difficult can this be with a great example in Stockholm
