  1. I got round to adding a few coats of extra dark grey (hand painted of course) and after gave it a bit of a polish. Couple of pics. OC.
  2. Hiya lou thanks for looking in, the idea is to paint the whole hull a dark grey sheme but alsong the top centerline is a flat back anti-slip finish, there are some recessed panel lines that I hope to show with dark grey washing in the lines, not sure if my cell phone camera will be good enough to show this, mind you its done ok so far. OC.
  3. Del Prado is one such part works company carl, they do many things not just boat kits, same with De Agostini. OC.
  4. I would deffinatly be in watching this if you do a build log James, what a facinating kit and subject. and the real ship looks amazing also. OC.
  5. Building has started - the hull consists of three sections, two lower split down the center line and the one piece upper, so after cutting the sections away, I trimmed away the plastic pips and sanded flat, I then glued the two halves and set aside, I then scribed some of the top hull detail just to give a sharper line for the detailing. Here's a few pics. OC.
  6. I have decided to make a slight distraction from my HMS Greyhound build, and start on my Sub kit instead, its been sat in the cupboard for a while so I decided to take it out - shake off the dust and have a go of it. When I used to live close to one of UKs RN ports I used to see these class of subs on an almost daily basis, so it is fitting to build her, the name fits in nicely also Here are a few pics showing he contents and also a couple of my pics from where I used to live showing one of the actual subs. OC.
  7. Great job there greg, one of your best I think, you have got the weathering just right - very impressive. OC.
  8. Great idea with the boat lou, I loved building one of my small boats from my previous Vic build (the pic of the boat is in my avatar) It too was a small kit form built up from a center keel with ribs then a few small sections of thin planks, then I added all the inside work - I realy enjoyed building it. OC.
  9. Great work with such fine scale carl, I so get you with the strengthening idea, how did the depth marking go, I might still have those I showed you if they are any good to you(could pop the in the post) OC.
  10. Similar to what I did with thin strips fitted to simulate the original planking. OC.
  11. This kits is renowned for being the "Go To" replica in wood of HMS Victory, all the stuff is there to make a Truly outstanding ship, all I will say is - Take your time - then more time and even more time after that, study every aspect and dry fit, then test and challenge the dry fit, get to know how every stage will influence the next stage. Study as much as you can about the real ship. This Realy has all the potential to be Superb. I will be taking a seat screwing it down and following along with much interest. sincerely Old Collingwood. OC.
  12. Its ok mate they just look a little smaller on the screen without clicking them, great work all the same. OC.
