Right - more work on the sub this afternoon, I masked and re painted the top anti-slip black paintwork, then I turned my attention to the sail/conning tower top section, this has multiple devices - periscope etc, theres were cut from the spue and cleaned up before placing in thier respective positions, I also painted the inside white as this will be seen from the top. Here are a couple of pics (taken with my phone camera as I do not have a close up lens on my dslr) OC.

Such a shame there are no QE ships in 1/350 scale of that period - only WW2 versions. OC.

Yep I have done similar - the top of the sail is open at the moment, so I managed to find one of my brushes where the handle fitted inside with a quite tight fit, I ran some gaitor pva down inside around the handle, with any luck it will hold the brush handle enough tomorrow so I can hold it to spray with. Then when dry I should be able to cut away the handle to allow the top of the sail to be fitted. OC.

More progress today - I seperated some of the pe parts and managed to loose one of them (as you do) these were the hatches, so I managed to fix in place two hatches and two accessnt hatches, these needed a slight bend to fit them to the profile of the top/side of the hull, I also fitted the top device infrot of the sail (not sute what it does), then two side hull covers were fitted - these have a slight opening at the rear. After finishing off the hull details I worked on the rear section containing the Stern Planes, water propeller system and cover. After fitting these components I gave the inside of the cover and prop blades a coat of brass paint. So this is the stage I am at sofar - next will be to crate a handle(stick) to hold the sub while I giver her and overall spray as my Nato Black has arrived. Thank you for all the views/likes and of course everyones imput. OC.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
