  1. Good evening everyone Funnels, two of them, quite different in shape but I built them both the same tonight I will let the photo tell the story the after funnel is cut into the hanger module, will be tidied up at a later date the fwd funnel built the same
  2. Good evening everyone this weekend the bridge module was made took three attempt to get it looking right, im quite pleased how it is coming together now the awkward bit was putting the skin on as it splits, the upper part around the bridge winds, where as the lower part wraps around the base
  3. good evening everyone I forgot to post build progress last weekend I moved to the forward superstructure, as i want to keep the project at or around the same amount of progress, so with my modified light box a set of plans and a piece of plasticard, off I jolly well went at the efter end of the fwd section there is a split level deck, there is access doors and ladders down the main deck this is not my photo but you can see behind the boat the area i am on about to finish the weekend off I made the support area for the fwd mast this weekend the Bridge area's turn as of last Sunday she looks like this, slowly beginning to look like something
  4. Piet thank you for your comments, im enjoying this build a lot, i managed to get some more covering of the MDF last night, but realised that perhaps this is not the best time to do it, as there is lots more bits of superstructure to be added which means i will have to adapt what is in place to fit it, i will update as I move on
  5. good morning, thankyou for your comments yes i have amble scope for the extra detailing, but at present i just want to get the superstructure built up and then go around adding all the nice little bits, the helicopter/hanger idea was just to see if i had what (skill levels) it needs for the build
  6. keith yes i have considered lots, but keep going back to MDF, i still have no intentions of putting her into water, infact I am still thinking of opening sections of the hull up to show internal details, I just wish I had access top better references
  7. this weekend has been working forward of the hanger, and the big question, (could i do better), lets find out not turning back as it all went in the bin, even the dog ate some back to the idea of building with 3mm MDF using the plans to keep the centre line correct, i made a spacers to keep it all lines up, these eventually become vents and exhausts this is not my photo, but you can see what I mean towards the end of the hanger when happy 1mm plasticard was added to the roof, and more access points added also stared to add 0.5mm skim to the bulkheads, as ot flows around the corners i created
  8. Good evening everyone i was happy with the hanger, but last weekend i ripped the after block off (director gear office) and did it again this was because at the end of the hanger roof where it drops down would not sit square (sorted) i am even putting in access points, in case i need them everything is removable at this time
  9. Led Lights arrived today, intentions are to use these where possible to simulate internal lighting only, like the hanger, Bridge, and passage ways I need to think ahead as to how they are going to fit, but they can be cut down to lengths of 3 leds, the last phot was just to see what they will look like, and how easy it will be to hide any wiring, I have a remote control for them on its way, so lol i hope they do the job
  10. good morning everyone well the helo could have turned out better, but for now it will do, I have plans to change it towards the end of the build, the tail will have to be repainted as the masking did not work very well and again a picture of what I am trying to achieve also the rotor blade holder is not in place yet
  11. OC i had nothing to go on, I just wanted to show anything thing other than a blank canvas, lol it gives at least something to discuss when the rivet counters pull it apart on FB
  12. good evening everyone phot of the replaced hanger door panel the hanger roof got some attention today some evergreen (other makes are available) and a bit of brass rod spray painted grey then white then the helo got some attention masked primed and coated in yellow
  13. Thoroughly enjoyed my week off, it wasn't to to do the build it was because my doggie needed a operation which was done a week ago, and done loads of things that im not able to do during the working week, Dobbie was fine after the op just to take it easy for a week until the scars heal replaced some rotton posts along our property, put most of the garden to bed for the winter sos on and so on Dobbie aged 2 years old
  14. Piet, i hope everything is getting back to normal,
  15. Good morning Piet thank you for your kind words, but yesterday i realised that i need to rethink the hanger, because of the prtice i am using 1mm and not 2mm plastic card, but because of it being quite flexible i have been strengthening it up with off cuts out of sight, which then causes it own issues, when you want to work in that area, So i have revamped the hanger totally the hanger sides have been removed and replaced with 2*1mm and I did away with the inset by doing it this way it has become a lot more accurate and I have gained about 4mm in storage space for the helo, Phots later, i have to live and learn,
  16. lovely work my friend, hope the arm/neck is better soon, so whats the next project lol
  17. doors will be open, i am waiting for led lights now to give some feeling to it and then sort the hanger roof out.there will be warm white and red led lighting in there
  18. well the hanger has a helo in it now, lol not that anyone in a maritime site would care, but i had to, my hands were tied, it has a fairly cheap basic OOB build, and I even left some bits off, the rotors blades were a pain as they were not design to fold like that here is what i am trying to copy (not my photo) the kit my attempt so far
  19. well thats my quota of likes used for the day - lol again i just could not work in 1350, they way you have handled this build is amazing, love the PE set and your attention to detail
  20. Good evening everyone spent quite a bit of time today on the hanger internal details, even though artistic licence applies i am happy with it, especially as when the helo is parked in front of it very little will be seen before being primed i put a cage under the landing primed with Halfords rattle can grey then in Citadel white which is quite a flat white using part of the spruce from the Bismark build, i formed a few water pipes which then were primed in red and added then made a set of hand rails for the landing and placed into its home for the night
  21. today i detailed a few bits, very much artistic licence, but if the rivet counters want to pick me up, LOL it means they have a photo, that being the case I will change it
  22. the office has been remade (3rd or 4th time) most likely the 10th just one door and put a desk inside not that you will ever see it and then put a platform in, to see if it looks in scale i taped some of the helo together
  23. Good evening everyone the hanger idea did not work for me, when the door is cut the whole superstructure became to flexible, so back to the drawing board the solution I came up with was to make an internal hanger to fit inside the main body this has firm everything up and it is removable helicopter arrived
